First work? Damn good man! Its reminiscent of Oakenfolds tranceport album…one of my favs.

As for criticism, the wash almost sounds like it belongs there, lol…but I would prolly expand the piece some by working in a melodic , memorable line, over the top of everything. But in the right context, it could stand on its own.. great job!

Your song sounds like maybe a good foundation for progressive trance. A good way to get that oompf you want is to layer similar melodies, one at highs, mids and lows. This will give the song depth.
let your drum loops break, add more on top of the standard 16-beat, if you are going to use a drum roll, let is run for a bit starting off softly and let it build momentum over 4-8 measures.
While you build your perc loops, build your melodies and let them all explode together.
