otgParticipantI seem to have problems logging into A4U with Firefox. I’ve only recently started using Firefox, but have pimped its speed using FasterFox and Google Web Accelerator.
I enter my username and password, then it passes back to the front screen but where I should see my avatar etc, it just shows Guest. I’ve had to use IE to post this, and IE does what I want – remembers me.
Is it something I’m not doing right? Will the world suddenly explode in a flaming cataclysm? Only you can help…

SeanzaParticipantUnfortunately, I’m not a FF user. But it sounds like your cookies aren’t enabled. Somebody with FF experience can probably answer this in more detail, but look in Tools >> Options / Preferences then look for something that you might think will contain your temp files and cookies settings.
I personally use Opera, it’s great http://www.opera.com

Hope I helped a bit

Peace

otgParticipantIt’s not an accepting cookies problem, I auto-login to other forums fine. I’ve just deleted all of my cookies and flushed my password file, and it seems to have let me log in. Not sure why, but meh, it works.
I use FF because there’s a gazillion add ons for it, including some to get round some of the draconian rules when posting to MySpace forums (I’m quite active in an HTML & CSS forum).
Thanks for your help anyhow. This thread can be closed / deleted at your discretion.

That COULD be your problem otg, you never know.

p.s So you’re a web designer then?

otgParticipantacapella wrote:p.s So you’re a web designer then? Not as such, but I’ve a good working knowledge of HTML and CSS, some basic java and I’m a VBA programmer by trade so have the right mindset. I’ve built a few websites in the past, all of which are now defunct due to other commitments. The only active site I have now is , which has nested divs, CSS pop-ups and various other goodies. I’ve never done any ASP or .NET programming, and I’m at a loss when it comes to Flash, but give me a text editor and I can write you a web-page. You need some help with something?

anisinaParticipantGoogle Web Accelerator does exactly what you’re having problems with. I tried it a while ago, to speed the loading of pages, on a slower PC, but I came to login and it kicked me back out, everytime. I uninstalled and everything was back to what it should be.
Google Web Accelerator is good for browsing but not for using forums.

and I get a big "thankyou" when they convert!AdSense 336x280 -
