Out of interest which file compressors do you most commonly use/prefer. I used to just use Win Zip but also use Rar. I’m not sure which one is better.

I use WinRAR. About 2 or 3 years ago I tried some other programs, WinACE and some freewares, I’m not sure, if Winzip also. There were always some rar-files which only winRAR was able to extract. So I decided to use WinRAR. Until now it has known every format I got.

I use ZipGenius. It’s free, and although it can’t make rar files it can decompress them.

Or I just make a tar.gz or tar.bz2 file when booted into Linux

I Have Always used WinRAR and i Love it =)

i have never found anything it cant unrar =)

I use 7zip. Very small, lightweight, and free. Handles most every format.
