As I understand the term ‘house music’. It was born in the US and was music that was played in warehouse raves in the early 90’s. (I think?)
Nowadays ‘house’ just seems to be a blanket for anything between 125 and 135bpm with a 4/4 beat.
Electro, funky, soulful, tech, deep, acid, chicago, tribal etc. etc. are sub genre’s.
I have no idea how to define all the sub genre’s, all I know is i like it

Secondly… I agree with Chunkycoldmedina. The first thing you have to understand, is that House is the main genre and electro, minimal, funk etc are sub-genres. Now, a better way to explain electro, is to speak of distortion. Electro is electronic sounds that are distorted to a certain extent.

The concept of "electro" is basically entirely focused on the bassline.
