BuBaParticipantHey Winston long time lol
Well here in Slovenia we have different kinda country music so i cant really say which american country music is good cause i didnt heard much exept in some movies.
I dunno if Johny Cash fit that branch but i like some his songs.
Also i know Kenny Rogers lol dunno how but remember listening to some of his songs.
Maybe u can point me and show me the beauty of country music? Maybe i could sample something lol in my beats? lolBuBa

Sweet CheesusParticipantI love Billie Jo Spears ("Blanket on the Ground" and "What I’ve Got in Mind" are brilliant). Not sure if she qualifies as pure "country" though.

Alf1ParticipantI don’t listen to it on my own. My cousins are all really big hicks so they love it. I don’t mind the stuff they listen to because it is all really awesome and about how Jesus was be redneck.

miles1976Participanthi ! I like some stuff made by Johnny Cash (Jackson / Folsom prison blues) and also the country tracks recorded by neil young (on the LP "comes a time" for example).

GuitarplayainMDParticipantI love it all. Country music is fine with me. I prefer Old school outlaw country though. Yes Buba, Johnny Cash is the definitive Outlaw Country artist.

2GSParticipantThe Muzik Mafia stuff like Big & Rich and Cowboy Troy promises soime fun fusion material and truly accessible stuff, even if you aren’t predisposed to pop country in the first place. The bonus remixes of "Hick Chick" and "I Play Chicken With The Train" on Cowboy Troy’s recent "Black In The Saddle" record demonstrate the potential of the genre for cross-fusion. As rock and jazz sampling goes in and out of fashion, I predict more of a mix of country sampling into the hip-hop and dance worlds, kinda like Lemon Jelly’s early work.

DJ_GreenleafParticipantI like some country, like older Garth Brooks, some older Tim McGraw, and some Toby Keith.
From Oklahoma, seems like I would only like country, but I like all genres.AdSense 336x280August 6, 2007 at 3:23 am #630551

jefpeaceParticipantThere are a handful of country songs that I like, but as a whole I don’t care for ’em much. I grew up on country music (lived on a working ranch in Colorado until I was 22, yeah, I’m a real cowboy, or was rather) but since moving away, leaving that lifestyle and discovering other music, I just gravitated toward more upbeat stuff.
Still, "The Dance", "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain", "1984", "Boy Named Sue" and a few others get my toes tappin’.

BIG D OParticipantnah, I can’t say I’m a fan at all….the closest thing to country that I’ve ever kinda liked/listened to was some Elvis…..and even Elvis would mix it up a bit yahmean…his stuff would sound real country one second, then it would be sounding more bluesy, then it would sound like rock n’ roll, so yeah, I can’t say i’ve ever been really exposed to country music like that…..
If anyone has any suggestions or recommended listening for a novice to check out let me know….
AdSense 336x280August 6, 2008 at 1:46 am #654786

jefpeaceParticipantI’m not all that fond of c&w as a rule, but there are a number of songs I like that happen to be c&w … a few I can think of off-hand are:
Garth Brooks – The Dance
Willie Nelson – Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain
Johnny Cash – Ghost Riders In The Sky, Ring Of Fire, A Boy Named Sue, The Cadillac Song
George Strait? – 1982
Patsy Cline – CrazyI’m sure there’s more, but that’s all I can come up with at the moment.
