LuminanceParticipantHi Everyone,
I just finished a new jam. It’s a sort of trance/dance remix of Chris Brown’s "Forever". As always, constructive criticism is appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: Song has been removed to make room for my new Sean Kingston remix. You can find the Forever mix on my website: http://www.DJLuminance.com or my myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/stephenbiondi

djspyderb4everParticipantI really like what you did with this.
A good mix to throw in towards the end of the night when things start winding down.
Thanks for posting it.AdSense 336x280May 18, 2008 at 12:50 am #649717
LuminanceParticipantHey I’m glad you liked it. Anybody have any critiques?

LuminanceParticipantOk, 13 people have downloaded this. Can you at least give me a "this sucked" or "I liked this"?

acheadKeymasterThis is really great. Some light trance goodness. I would like to hear a break where we hear a nice synth lead, but maybe that’s just me.
What acapella did you use for this? Did you get it here? If, so, which of the three, cause I’m a bit shifty about diy pellas.
Thanks, and great mix!

LuminanceParticipantHey thanks, I’m glad you liked it. I def agree with a nice synth lead in there. I’m thinking about doing another version of it. Basically, I’m trying to get some beats played out in the clubs around my town and not many people listen to trance around here so I’m trying to dumb it down a little bit and make it a little poppier. ::cough cough:: sellout ::cough:: lol.
I used this acapella from the site:

acheadKeymasterNo problem. And I agree, you should make more versions. When I can’t decide between two different versions of a mix, I just say, "Aw, screw it, I’ll make both!"
By the way, I visited your site. The "With Love" remix is soooo good. What program(s) do you use?

LuminanceParticipantHey thanks for stopping by!
I switch back and forth between cubase and FL Studio. I want to force myself to just use cubase but I just love the work flow in FL and since I use the same VSTs anyway, I feel like I get the same sound quality. But then you have to deal with the harassment from technical nazis that want to tell you you’re a nooooob…
With that said, I use Vanguard, Nexus, and the Waves bundle. I think in "With Love" I used the sytrus vst too.
I should have a new beat out in about a week so keep an eye out for it!

njslipmatParticipantNiice.
Yeah, trance, even the harder progressive stuff isn’t too big in NY anymore either. Seems like it’s gone kinda full circle and it’s very housy tribally now. Which is cool cause it’s really dancey and easy to mix. Haha.
I’ve started using FL8 and I agree with you I love the work flow.AdSense 336x280June 17, 2008 at 12:53 pm #651404
