this is the whole point of djing m8!AdSense 336x280May 6, 2007 at 10:28 pm #620799
afrobabyParticipanttually the purpouse of djing is to make music sould good together and make the listeners emotions go wild, beatmatching is the easy bit, although to keep a fast pace sometimes you need to mix in and out fast and sometimes there is no time to beatmatch, andy whitby and eddie halliwell arguably the best hard house djs both use prepared BPM and when u realise that beatmatching is merley the tip of the iceberg then you stop being a good dj and become great…Not that im saying your not great u might be amazin im just sayin there is more to music

I’m just saying that in "clubland" for the night to flow it needs to appear seamless. I don’t believe that eddie halliwell simply makes all his tracks that he plays the same bpm before he does a gig. Maybe by this you were meaning his own tunes are the same bpm, which to be honest most dj/producers probably do this. Not sure what you were meaning???
Anyways to answer your question on which program to use. If it’s house, hard house, trance your wanting to work on i’d suggest Fruityloops as a starter.
Here is a link to a demo version of FL Studio 7:

Once you are familar with this you could either purchase the full version or maybe move onto Reason 3.

Hope this helps.

afrobabyParticipantcheers mate, although eddie halliwell does make all his tunes the same bpm and andy whitby i found out today they use adobe music somethin or other, andy whitby does it because he likes to be mixin before he hits his first breakdown giving him about 30-40 seconds to beatmatch so he just makes everythin one bpm….eddie halliwell sets all tunes to 150 bpm because the mathematics means that digitally everything set to 100 (ie transform) will be matched, eddie halliwell doesnt produce as far as i know but i do know he sets everything to 150 so to reiterate my point eddie is amazin and the beatmatchin means nothin tune selection is the most important part

Yeah, mixing is half the fun of DJing.
Anyone can play the right tunes but how you play them is what makes you stand out from the rest

afrobabyParticipantactually folks beatmatching is only the tip of the iceberg what about mixing in a tune mixing out 30 seconds later and making the baseline after the first breakdown be the one from the tune your mixing in, while readying an accapella you think you can beatmatch that fast then your somethin else, the fun is learning new things, beatmatchin is for beginers, i can do it and fairly quickly, everyone has heard the tune played then mixed two mins before the end, so make it different by mixin in well early, keepin the pace fast and hit the crowd with cuts breaks n pellas to change it up, eddie is amazin you cant say him and his followers are wrong, if mixin was just beatmatchin and playin tunes eddie wouldnt be rakin in 5k a set minimum diversify yourself, "beatmatchin took me a month or so to get to an acceptable level, im still learning to DJ"
