acheadKeymasterI have been advised by a certain founder member of this forum (Thanks Acapella) that i could probably do with a new soundcard.
Id like a Firewire card to use on desktop pc and laptop but ive know idea what to buy, at the moment im looking at the Emu set of cards. The only thing the card must have is 2 sets of outputs or 1 set of output and a headphone out that can be sent to from inside software.

JuggernautParticipantdunno bout desktops, but indigo DJ cardbus will do what you’re asking for laptops
http://www.echoaudio.com/Products/CardB … /index.phpfirewire at the moment isn’t going to be amazingly cheap (will still be more expensive than it’s usb 2.0 counterpart) i don’t think anyway…haven’t been keeping an eye on them as of late

acheadKeymasterThanks Juggernaut but i was looking for a card to use on both stsyems, desktop at home and laptop when out thats why i thought firewire would be best, for some reason my usb 2 ports have stopped working on my desktop pc.

JuggernautParticipantyeah i know, but just thought i’d put that in there too coz they are quite good (and at the moment i don’t have a desktop system coz i move around way to much)
Erm, as for your USB 2.0 ports, if they don’t work, they probably got "shorted" by something and the system closed them to protect itself. There’s a way to re-activate them but i can’t remember for the life of me what it is (i’ve since moved permanently to mac’s)
I’m quite fond of Edirol’s FA-101 and cheaper version 66, but price wise that is well beyond and above what you’re looking for.
Did a quick search at digital village and this is the page:
http://www.dv247.com/search/3152/0/Prod … terface/1/the behringer FCA202 is the cheapest by far with 2 in and 2 outs. But be wary that behringer’s products are cheap…(that said sometimes they’re well worth it if it’s a quick fix that’s needed)

acheadKeymasterThanks for your replys, in case im being misunderstood all i really want is to monitor on the headphones with some kind of main/monitor mix volume (so i can hear the 2 together in the headphones) while the main out is being heard throught the amp, as in cueing another track to fit the first one.
