Finding them yourself is the best part, though! Dig through some thrift shops, record stores (obv), libraries and radio stations and find sounds that you like! While most diggers use soul/funk/jazz samples, anything is fair game, so don’t let the past keep you from using a sweet sound!

Also, I’m a fan of freesound for interesting sound effects and other things to bring a sense of depth to your tracks. Of course, you don’t want to forget about soundcloud too, as there are many music makers who are making some neat sounds to sample.
