DJThuhtParticipantI understand that the Three ‘n One mix is the most commonly played- so I picked it up, because I wanted a real memorable track for this set I’m working on.
I have to say, I’m somewhat disappointed- it’s not how I remember Cafe Del Mar being… I remember it being much more jumpy and..well…anthem-y. The three ‘n one mix…the anthem doesn’t kick in until like 6 minutes into an 8 minute track.
There’s gotta be a more uplifting and memorable mix out there? ‘Cus I mean, Cafe Del Mar is just one where you hear half a bar of it and you go "CAFE DEL MAR!" (or at least..I do..)
So what mix do you guys think I should use?
Yeah, I’m looking for something anthemous (sorry, I think I’m making up words), but I’m trying to avoid the Sandstorm phenomenon…AdSense 336x280July 23, 2008 at 1:56 am #653954

otgParticipantThe Three ‘n’ One mix is the one everyone knows, some DJs will mix it in just before the breakdown so you don’t get the build up, but that’s the best part of the track, the tease, the anticipation…
<swiss tony voice>The Three ‘n’ One mix of Cafe del Mar is like making love to a beautiful woman… </swiss tony voice>
I, however, much prefer Hybrid’s Time Traveller Mix from 1998 and was still playing it out when I last DJed in 2005, I probably still would now.

MikaileParticipantare you referring to all the compilations? Mixed by Jose Padilla, then followed up by Bruno?
if so, i really like Volume 4.
my Cafe Del Mar anthem would have to be:
Afterlife – 5th & Avenidaloads of love for that track.
RESPECT.
=]:: Peace ::

nah, I meant which remix, like "Three ‘n one," "Hybrid’s Time Traveler," etc. But I checked out that track… O.O
That was AMAZING! =D
I don’t think I could mix it into anything very easily, because I’m not that skilled, but mang.. I gotta work it in somehow! Super chill =>Edit: Just checked out the out of office mix and deamau5 mix. They were both pretty good, a little on the slow side though =p
