BuBaParticipantno mater what i still like how autotune can make a voice sound. i think it’ll work it’s way into other voice effects like echo and what not.

HyperstateParticipantgahhhhh autotune *shakes fist at it*
I love it when I hear a recording of a singer with minor imperfections in it. It shows they can actually sing and are confident in their ability to be able to throw it down and still create that magic feeling.AdSense 336x280December 14, 2009 at 6:26 pm #675157
ShanowParticipantAnd now there is variaudio in cubase…. lol

alkalinemusicParticipantI remember seeing an episode of Nova Science a few months ago and they did an interview with the creator of AutoTune. I’ll never forget the look on his face when they asked him if he ever intended for the software to be used this way. A look of utter disappointment as he shook his head "no". Although i’m sure his bank account is saying "Yess!!"

Skills and FutureParticipantAugh, I didn’t want to see that T-Pain app again. Some kid in my class kept using that whenever he talked.
AdSense 336x280May 20, 2010 at 7:16 am #679623
uptheirons106ParticipantI still love the sound of it, I don’t care what anyone else says… Copiers can piss off, but when T-Pain is featured on the hook of a huge hip-hop song, I love it. He makes garbage songs instantly better, IMO. Just my 2 cents though, I know almost no one agrees with that.
AdSense 336x280May 23, 2010 at 4:53 pm #679687
crashb23ParticipantI don’t care about autotune

beatz51ParticipantThis plugin changed the music industry! Good or bad….
AdSense 336x280May 29, 2010 at 6:32 am #679835
andrés digitalParticipantif you could use it, its good, but still better is melodyne.
the tpain effect is just an effect and nutten more, and I personal can’t listen to artists sounding like robots. but this died last year…up to di time producer don’t use it this way anymore
AdSense 336x280June 6, 2010 at 12:09 pm #680007
Stormin_NormanParticipantVampire Weekend use it to great effect. Ezra did an interview on JJJ where he explained that sometimes it makes things harder for him as a singer… Still, I hate it…
AdSense 336x280June 13, 2010 at 2:58 pm #680223
Rockstar915ParticipantI think it’s a great plug-in, I will admit that it is a little over used now. But several years ago when I first found one that came with garageband I loved messing around with it before I really heard it over used in pop music (well every music genre now). Oh, and AndrĂ©s Digital, you are definitely right about melodyne being better, but thats not your typical auto tune. That program still gives you a ‘real’ sound…unless you start moving the pitches everywhere
AdSense 336x280June 19, 2010 at 12:05 am #680353
billclawsonParticipantpretty cool video i dig it.. totally not weird al
AdSense 336x280June 22, 2010 at 6:27 am #680433
eduubParticipantahh … what can’t Professor Weird Al teach us?
I have to admit, I do kinda like the sound of auto-tune … if used correctly, of course. And, really… NOT on every track.
And, for people making money off of it, and having no talent outside the auto-tune world? I say, let em. Lord knows there’s enough money in the world, why not let them have a piece? I mean, if they’re really, truly _that_ horrible, they’ll be gone pretty quickly anyway…
just my 2.

Real.DanParticipantThat was actually really interesting

I quite like auto tune when used sparingly, for example one verse maybe. However I despise T payne.
AdSense 336x280July 21, 2010 at 3:02 pm #681168
djmessParticipantEverything used abusively is wrong. Autotune is not an exception. If an artist CAN sing in verses but uses autotune in the chorus for some effect i think it’s acceptable, but whole autotuned song are WRONG.
AdSense 336x280July 26, 2010 at 12:45 pm #681365
anjunaParticipantmelodyne on instrumental cuts is cool
