DJ_BradyParticipantThanks for the feedback man..Im working on a remix album of the indie band " Arctic Monkeys "
Im cutting up all their songs to 2/4 bars and in sync for new beats to be added over them.AdSense 336x280June 7, 2006 at 10:22 pm #591161
DJ_BradyParticipantYeah I started with Hip Hop but didnt do too well..so Im trying to mix songs without acapella..because they are mostly the songs that are better..and with more meaning to them. And theres so many great artists and songs out there that have to be mixed! Its just a matter of keep on practicing to make your mixes worthy of the original songs..sometimes rap and hip hop is easier to mix as its made on a computer and the songs are in synch.
But..whatever genre your doing nothing is easy! Thats why Im still practicing like you..AdSense 336x280June 8, 2006 at 1:19 pm #591200

But..whatever genre your doing nothing is easy! [/quote:ur4tyby4]Thats true…! Things may sound complicated or simple, but they still all have aspects about them that are going to be difficult… Still trying to get a grasp of muic theory so I can start to add my own basses and melodies, chords etc to tracks… can you play any instruments?[/quote:ur4tyby4]
No..I tried guitar but didnt stick at it lol..
I might try again though it isnt that hard..you just need to practice to be able to just pick it up and put all of what you´ve learned to work. The learning part isnt so hard but the playing part is..without making mistakes.AdSense 336x280June 8, 2006 at 4:00 pm #591208

tonym_djParticipantHey Brady,
Not bad, the synth thats sound like an industrial saw is quite prominent it could do with being a little quieter and maybe changing the tone on every 4/4 beat or something just to give the monotone sound a bit of variety.
The beats aren’t typical house beats these are more of a commercial Aphex style than house.
The breakdown sounds pretty good.
It’s always difficult to mask the backing track to lay your own beats, maybe try taking the base out of the original and lay a different beat pattern.
Something I have used in the past to cut up tracks for remixes is recycle by propellerheads it allows you to cut loops and then import them into a programme called reason, it’s the same programmes the prodigy used to create their last album.
Keep up the good work.
