boinkParticipantHey guys,
didn’t know who to ask so thought i’d tap your knowledge and see what happens
Anyhoo, i’ve got an Olympus digital camera, had it about 4 years or so, and whenever i put fully recharged batteries in it, after about 3 minutes the "battery empty" logo flashes up and the camera shuts down.
I thought my batteries were duff so i bought new ones, and believe me i’m charging them to the max, but it’s still happeneing so now i’m thinking my cameras wonky.
any idea why this might be happening, or what i can do to fix it?
Thanks! All the best.

matmoo_kParticipantsome of the older digital cameras can be like that with batteries. esp rechargables, and you can ‘overcharge’ ’em too. which has adverse effects.
i’d say try a new camera, i did. and was mightily happy. they not as spennive as they used to be now-a-days

I’ll second that..older cameras use up the batteries very fast.

vice versesParticipantits all to do with the lcd screen,… if your happy not to rely on that, and just use the viewfinder u might find the batteries last longer,
the old camera i used to have i also found that only expensive new batteries worked in it, otherwise they drained very quickly.
but im afraid like everyone else has said here, your better just buying a new camera. as theyre so cheap now, and they all come with rechargher units!!
hope thats of some help

Im assuming that this problem hasnt alway existed? Maybe your charger is wack. I have an older charger and its gone mental. It comletely charges the bateries right but the light to notify me that theyre done charging doesnt work right. For a while i had thought all my batteries were broken!

jefpeaceParticipantTry using a fresh set of alkaline batteries (not rechargable) before giving up on the camera. The batteries may be what’s wonkers here.
