DJThuhtParticipantI’ve noticed some really, really strange names for remixes, and I was wondering if there was any significance to them. To name a few, there’s Silosonic- Something (Buzz Kitchen remix, as well as Dirty South remix), The Thrillseekers- Waiting here for you (Breakfast mix), Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren- Light the Skies (Retrobyte’s Light the Sidechain mix, as well as Retrobyte’s Classic Electrobounce mix). I mean, these sound really weird to me. Now I’m not like obsessive about music, so I know what sidechaining is, but not what it sounds like, or how to recognize it in a track, but I have no idea what Buzz Kitchen or Breakfast has to do with music…
Also- If I’m not mistaken, this is my 50th post, so I can preview ‘pellas now

DJ LevantParticipantI find that most remixes are named after the remixer. This is the case with the Dirty South remix of ‘Something’. So it’s kinda funny (and creative) when they go for something different.
I see what you mean with some remixes having the most random names. Rob Mayth’s Barbie girl has a DJ Manian remix called "Manians Freak In The Morning Remix"
Congrats on the 50th post btw, yes previews should be coming ur way

JuggernautParticipantyeah, the name’s usually in there and sometimes you’ll have the same remixer remixing the track a few times. one will eventually be a dub version of one of their remixes but it’s a way to differentiate between them all, and the style they’re done in. (bouncy, crunchy electro bass as opposed to calming, "boards of canada" sine type bass for example)

DJThuhtParticipantgotcha- hmm… theres another term of which I don’t understand the exact meaning, "dub."
Sorry- thats prolly a really stupid question >.<AdSense 336x280October 9, 2007 at 8:49 am #634857
JuggernautParticipantsans (without) vocals usually. or the most prominent element that equates to a vocal element, removed.
