Apart from the ones we already know, perhaps if MORE lurkers out there (you know who you are) were willing to come forward and reveal themselves and possibly make some ‘additions’ to our that wouldn’t be such a bad thing to do. Would certainly make it clear to the industry heads that a there is a definite need for a resource such as ours.

TOPSHOTTA, at the end of the day though, or in the middle, up to you, it’s totally up to the individual to have their identity hidden, one of the ‘appeals’ perhaps of being a mr or mrs anonymous.

Who knows, perhaps this is the start of the revoultion and more people will stand up as a result of this post? We can but try.. 😉

Here ya go, don’t say I never gave you anything:

1 – Visit http://www.evor.com and follow the link to the articles section.
2 – Read the article about presskits written by yours truly (Jef Peace)
3 – Purchase a copy of The Indie Bible (available at a discount by visiting http://www.peaceworkmusic.net
4 – Assemble your presskits according to the suggestions found in #2
5 – Compile a list of labels working with your genre from those found in #3
6 – Mail out your presskits to the list of labels you’ve compiled
7 – Go on with life and be patient.

I’ve operated a label for over ten years now and as a label exec type person (sort of, in my heart and soul I’m a musician) I can absolutely assure you that just sending a demo cd will NOT get anyone’s attention and chances are the cd you send will end up in a landfill or collecting dust on a shelf with thousands of other unsolicited demo’s.

If you want a chance at being heard, follow the above list, but fair warning, this only offers you a chance at being heard and only your talent, passion and desire can give you any edge beyond the foot in the door.
