, overall it’s great! Though, when I think baile funk, I usually think of slightly busier percussion. You got the glitchiness down well though! Also, I heard M.I.A. in there as some of the vocals, but I was wondering where you found your acapellas for the Brazilian voices? I’ve been looking all over from some of those voices to use for some of my stuff, and it’s been a tough search.

Thanks for the comments! always appreciated! and you’re right, M.I.A is in there.
as for the drums, i agree with you. they don’t sound as "baile funky" as i wanted them to but i had limited time on this thing so i never managed to fix em properly hehe.. i also found it quite hard to do all that crazy drumming on a midi keyboard. recon it’s a bit easier (and more fun!) to use some sort of sampler or MPC or supm when making baile funk tunes. What kinda gear do you use? and have you posted any of your stuff here on ACAS4U? -link!
found the pella on this site by the way. just search for "brazilian" and you should get at least a few hits!

deevidParticipantHi everyone!
OK so we had this thing in school where we were supposed to do a remix of any Queen song of choice. I sampled the bassline and some drums from Another one bites the dust (obviously), and with that i made my first baile funk attempt! Have also sampled a lot of other stuff for this like drums and effects from various songs. Programmed the "hand-played" drums myself though…Oh, and if any boardies speak portuguese, you’re more than welcome to translate whatever the girl is singin. I don’t, so her words probably won’t make any sense the way i chopped the pella up haha!
Enjoy, and please comment!
