matmoo_kParticipant(NO NAMES ARE USED TO PROTECT THE GUILTY)
I don’t know if anyone reads these and/or knows of the ‘notes’ existence. but there is something i have to get off my chest.
I was all happy early doors this week because i had signed up to do charity/volunteer work. All was going swimmingly well until i met a local councillor at the centre where i was at.
Background on the Vol work first. i met the guy who runs the centre, in what is typically known as a deprived area near where i live. I was offering a bit of free IT tech/website maintenance. And after a lengthy discussion with the centre manager it was agreed that i would use my knack/talents (whatever you want to call it) to try and teach the kids at the centre a bit in the way of music sequencing/loop chopping/mashing. on account of…..lets be fair if anyone who knows Goole/Old Goole…..they will agree something positive needs to be done like this, thats fun and above all else will keep the little scrotes off the street and from starting grief with other kids/people.
Said project was……is still set up to be fair. which i arranged in a matter of a coupla days. thats because i’m a bit of a genius like that. lol.
And then comes along a local councillor, who to be fair. Does have a lot to do with said centre. After 5 minutes speaking with her i KNEW she didn’t like me at all. On accounts of i was disagreeing with things she had to say. (thats politics for you kids). This wasn’t the problem though. I fell down in two places i think.
1. on the subject of a police check i needed to have done. I said i had already had one done recently when i had applied for a job at a local ‘security firm’ (thats the only way I can describe the shower of shit operation). this councillor knew the guy who i was trying to get a job with.
The silly bint RANG said guy (btw this ‘lady’ has no right to do this as she is not the hire/fire monkey)who then proceded to ‘tell’ her (not sure of the facts in their entirety yet, anyone interested? i will keep y’all posted on this one) that due to him not giving me the job(true) due to bad references(untruth) we had a heated discussion(true, only because he told me i couldn’t start the job on the friday-start date was following monday-tosser eh?) then i got violent towards him (not true, anyone who knows me personally knows i wouldn’t know how to get violent) And this is the best bit, and i don’t know if she or he made it up……since my last police check. i have been in trouble with the law. I would love to know what i’d done, because i’m sure i would know about it.
2. I know a certain other councillor in the area, who i get on well with. And ‘said’ councillor despises even though they are polite to each other.
But amidst all this, YES i may be annoyed/angry. but at least i don’t have bigoted/blinkered views on the area/people where i live. I am still going ahead with my little project. Because i think it will be good. As we know, with charities Kids+media projects+volunteers who give a shit=funding.
I know there has to be things in place with regards to background checks, as it is working with kids 8-17. But these need to be done ‘On the Record’. Not in a Machiavellian/witch hunt way. i am obviously pissed at this conduct.
Thank you whoever has read this, i know it was bloody long winded. And if i was sketchy in any part of it(i can be a bit fick sometimes) mail me and pull me up on it and i’ll explain more.

Reggie_p75Participant‘Burneth the Witch, who feareth the Technology!’
Yep, having just read this I feel slightly inscensed too….
There’s nothing worse than trying to help a community and being made to feel like a criminal for doing it!! Sticking her fucking nose in where she isn’t supposed to, where if it was me I’d be seeking legal advice concerning that matter as to whether she’s allowed to do that, where it appears she’s not went down the proper channels to allow her to do that. THAT its some other penpushers (sorry, civil servants
) job!!!£165 (approx $310 USD)….. Why do I say that?? Cos thats wot nosey old twats like her get paid per day, for just sitting at her frigging desk ie just turning up for work, regardless of whether they work or do a bit of brown-nosing to elevate their status within the wretched little tax wasters gang!!
U’d think that keeping teens off the streets with such ventures as yours would be browny points for silly arses like her, but no… I guess she’d rather see them knifing each other on a daily basis… then she’ll say her 2p (or 5 cents…
) on the matter.. a bit like closing the stable after the horse has bolted!!!!Glad u’ve still go the go ahead for the project but I’d make an example of her by not listing her thanks in setting up the project. Be gracious to all and sundry and don’t give this nasty hag any recognition or just carefully mention that there were a few pitfalls that were swiftly swept aside in the better interests of the community..
(Apologies to languages or views that offend n if so, mods, edit the post as u wish for better consuption… yum, yum
)[i:2qdaemj0][Moderator Edit; This view is soley the opinion of the author and in no way an opinion of Acapellas4U…..
I agree whole heartedly tho!

matmoo_kParticipantCheers reggie for the support. I live in yorkshire, which is bad enough with regards to ‘deprived areas’ i know its all over the UK like. But in yorkshire i’m feeling it cause i’m living it.
I’m gonna bite my tongue on the legal advice thing for now……I want her to eat her words when i make it a success.
*and they wonder why people don’t volunteer much anymore*
the worst thing is……half of the first meeting i had with her she was saying ‘this area is not deprived’ and ‘there’s loads for kids to do. i subsequently found out that she know’s it’s deprived and wants to keep it that way because it’s HER area. and in some sick twisted way. deprived areas give her POWER. along with her sycophantic little lackies too.

djshadesukParticipantMust. Resist. Urge. To. Rant!
Don’t get me started on this… just another example of how this country is going down the God-damn pan. It seems that the only thing most (or all!) of our councillors/politicians are really interested in is feathering their own nests. Politics is now nothing more than a job like any other… providing that you do the absolute minimum required and don’t massively f*ck up (both of which seem to matter less and less today… *cough* Harriet Harman *cough* Jacquie Smith *cough) then you’re onto a very cushy little number. Once you have a job in politics its now nothing more than an exercise in self-preservation with little thought to why you were really put there.
What really annoys me is Cabinet Ministers and how they get shuffled about. What EXACT qualifications do these people have that relate to the very important departments of government they are running… generally none. It doesn’t really matter even if they do have qualifications that relate to a particular area of goverment either… as soon as they are inevitably proven to be incompetent (or at least couldn’t organise the proverbial piss-up in a brewery) they get shuffled about. to some other department they have absolutely no clue about.
It all seems like re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic to me!
No wonder todays "yoof" are very disillusioned, and up to no good. People don’t give kids enought credit, they really aren’t all that stupid (even though some of them appear to be very much so!). They can see whats going on, even if they don’t specifically know whats going on (if you see what I mean). And can you blame them? It only gets even more depressing the older you get as you start to realise what a bunch of self-serving, shower of shite those "in charge" really are.
Don’t get me wrong. Most politicians probably embarked on their career with high hopes and dreams of making a difference but the important thing is they started out with relatively little (with the exception of the "silver spoon" brigade). Its when the pay scales start to increase that their focus shifts from making a difference to maintaining their standard of living (and their feeling of "power"). Government ministers/officials should be strictly paid on a performance-related-pay basis. They should have a basic salary that is in-line with the average of what the people they are serving make. Hefty bonuses should only be paid upon the successful completion of their hair-brained schemes (as reviewed by a totally independent body) which have proven to be of benefit and effective to society, delivered (relatively) on-time and (relatively) on budget… The "Carrot and the Stick" approach for a job well done.
But there-in lies the rub. Half the time they know their schemes are hair-brained and never work out quite the way they planned. So, as there is no way they would hit their targets (to get the bonuses) there’s absolutely no incentive in changing the way things are done at present… Those in power (with the large salaries) are more than happy with the current system. Once again its self-preservation in full swing.
Err, did I say "Must. Resist. Urge. To. Rant!"??
I for one can see, in the not too distant future, the shit well and truley hitting the fan, so to speak. And I whole-heartedly welcome, and look forward to the day when the new national "uniform" becomes this*:

*with the possible exception of the knives of course. Don’t want to get locked up by the old bill for 42 days for being a (plastic) knife wielding terrorist!
Oh, what’s that?… Guy Fawkes was a terrorist? Shit! Oh well, one mans terrorist is another mans revolutionary.
Viva la revolution![/color:1cgepy4r][/size:1cgepy4r]
Disclaimer: Some of the above may have been a little tongue in cheek… Please don’t smash down my door in the middle of the night, stick a black bag on my head and cart me off for an extended 42 day stay at one of Her Majesties guest houses! Yes, I’m talking to you, you sitting there in your little darkened room monitoring the interwebs for nutters!

fizzlesParticipantWould she have a job if there were no troubled kids? Thats the only mentality i can think of.
I cant comment on UK government but the US experiences problems too. Just from my state, i remember one year in which they:
1) Went overbudget
2) Raised taxes to compensateBut yet, despiste the fact they failed to do their job right, low and behold the bill to raise all of their salaries got passed. I wish i could go below expectations and still get a raise. It just goes to show that where there is money there will be problems.

jefpeaceParticipantTrust me, y’all don’t have the copyright on poor politics over there. 😉
It’s not fair, it’s not right, but it’s not going to change.
Egos need fed and folks who have tasted power generally want more … it’s a disease.
