GOOD NEWS: We might not be closing after all
NO SO GOOD NEWS: We won’t be hosting any acapellas I’m afraid

Thanks to those of you who’ve replied here with sincere comments and replies. We were very uplifted to see that you would on the whole STILL like to have an ACAPELLAS4U wether we had any acapellas or not. So we’re going to do everything we can and re-shape, re-structure, re-code and definitely re-word the forum to reflect the fact that we’re staying open. How does that sound?

We never wanted to close the site! We made perhaps a rather hasty (could have been worded better) decision last Friday. I think we overlooked the bigger picture and the fact that we do actually have (on the whole) quite a loyal community and pretty nice peeps here. I guess we also just thought that no one would be interested in it if we didn’t host any acapellas whatsoever.

And on a final note, a big ‘cheers’ to those of you who couldn’t bloody wait to do nothing more than postjack + spam the site. Guilty culprits will be tracked down and shot. The staff were quite disgusted actually with regards to all of that behaviour..

To be quite honest I never really made that much use of the accapellas anyways, my favourite bit is the test pressings and competitions!

No worries there mate me thinks we’ll have at least 60% of the members back to frequent the forums. As Crin mentioned, the majority of us weren’t here for the pellas, we were here for the forum and the test pressing areas where members could share there remixes with each other.

Now its time to rebuild the site I can help with a new banner, what about a new name too? Theres so much we can add to this site to make it great, without acapellas.. its great the way it is but it´d be cool to add tutorials and other stuff.. also.. can we still upload 10mb? And is their copyright probs with sharing our mixes?

Damn good idea Brady, heavens knows I need some mega teaching tools I’m tired of going around in circles.
I really don’t want to myself by asking question after question, like “how do I do this” ‘n “how do I do that”.
A tutorial section on the various programmes and not just the most common ones would be a great help.

I’m glad you guys decided to keep it open and all, but it still sucks that i had about 50 download credits that went down the drain… the site is nice for acapella discussion and test-pressings and all, but i already have (and have had for years) sites to do that, so I prolly won’t be around. I will never again share my work so openly on a forum-based site, since all that work got me nowhere. I know legal threats are a bitch, but they’re just threats. For a lesson on how to handle ‘threats’, read the legal threats on http://www.piratebay.org and take note.

Good luck with continuing the forum, sans acapellas.

This will probably be the last time I ever come here, so if anyone wants to add me to their AIM, it’s mentholated43

Isso é muito triste. Não sei quantos usuários temos no Brasil, mas com certeza muita gente daqui deveria utilizar o site, para baixar as capellas apenas por diversão ou para produção de remix.

Damn, I don’t know what to say people. I’mma definitely miss the pella downloads, even though I rarely used them. But just to know that I had access to them whenever I needed a sample or whatever meant everything. Now what?

Oh well, I’ve been riding with this site since the beginning when we had to use FTPs to upload / download. Guess I’ll ride til’ I die–or until the site dies, which ever comes first.

Hey yo, ACAPELLA!!!!! CAN YOU HERE ME OUT THERE!!!!!! Okay…now that I have your attention, you said the site was having legal issues, right? Well then, I assume that this site was involved in some sort of illegal promotion, that is to say, illegal by corporate, suit-and-tie standards, and not by those of the free-world who simply enjoy the art of music. Have you considered making whatever is “illegal” legal. This very well may determine the very existence of the community you and BIO have built, as well its future growth. It may also put some extra cash in your pocket, especially if the big guys turn around and promote the site!!! I know this is not what you’re in it for, but hell, why not get paid? You’ll be keeping the A4U community (as we know it today) alive, AND, have enough money to pay for banwidth, hosting, money for yourselves, whatever-whatever…and still have enough to bake biscuits for the community, man!!!

Think about it. It may very well be a credible move you could make. Peace.
