SimpleSoundOfSimpleParticipantFor Dj’ing it’s gotta be ableton everytime for me. so quick and easy. opens up a creative world for me

djzachParticipantDisagree Serato rocks my world and is the fasting selling and most widely used digital DJ setup, nothing beats it.

JuggernautParticipantSerato has vinyl emulation
Abelton doesn’t (although it probably is possible with clever midi mapping and hacking the breakout box serato uses etc. etc. etc.)if you want to mix without turntables, and possibly do more creative (almost live production) stuff Abelton is a better option

stephanlukeParticipantAs opposed to Serato, Ableton takes the beatmatching out of the dj’ing equation so that you can concentrate on manipulating music more creatively. If that’s the direction you want to take then Ableton is for you. If you are satisfied with beatmatching and blending tracks together and want to keep it that way then Serato is for you.

089erParticipanti´m planning to buy m-audio´s torq too.
AdSense 336x280January 24, 2007 at 1:02 pm #611053
089erParticipantmaybe you have to use live, cause you can´t match beats or count bars, or why your hating these vinyl-computer-interfaces???

JesterParticipantI would have to agree! Serato is the better choice. I have already invested so much time with Serato I can’t see myself going to anything else no matter what comes out!

track raydenParticipantI wouldn’t mind having Ableton but, right now I have Serato and I love it.
I can’t see me not using it. I would love to use them both together really and I guess they are working together in some way on some new goodies as well.
Another way Serato has done me right thus far is with the updates they’ve released adding a little MIDI control to cues and being able to throw some extra loops up too.
Ableton obviously has alot more MIDI capabilities than Scratch does but, these updates are signifigant and free.

hendrixParticipantserato is better for djing….ableton for creating mashups and your own stuff….you would need a powerful computer to dj with ableton as well uses lot of resources
