matmoo_kParticipantthis may sound stupid to some people, i dunno.
i have been a member of this fine establishment for a few months now, and there’s something i aint sure ofnow this is an acapella lovers forum, where we create mashups/blends what ever.
is there a section for showcasing our own music on here or not? i know there’s the sections house/ragga etc. but i aint sure if this is ‘mashup’ sections.
come on chunky or shades, i know you’ll be able to help me out.
yours naively MATT – DB69

Annoucement In All Test Pressing Sections wrote:First of all, what is the TEST PRESSINGS section? Well if you are an artist wishing to get your music ‘out there’ and recieve feedback from the Acapellas4U forum community then this IS the place to do it. The music you have could be your W.I.P’s (Works In Progress) but ideally we’d prefer to hear the FULLY finished track.I don’t believe there’s actually anything, anywhere that says tracks posted into the Test Pressings section has to be a mash/remix. So please feel free to share your original stuff with us.

ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantHaha, your far to careful DB69, dont be scared to dip your toes in the water!
On occasions us mods may come across as less than polite, but im sure you will appreciate, 99 times out of 100 its aimed at some leecher who contributes nothing to the site, and expects to be spoon fed when all the information is here or just asks dumb questions that would be answered by actually reading the page they are on!Im sure I speak for everyone if I say your a valued member of the site who knows how the place works as well as anyone.
Even if you ‘technically’ break a rule (you know what I mean) it aint like your gonna get strung up for it!
Look how often us mods go off topic! (essentially hijacking a thread)You make a very good point, most of the tracks in the test pressings are not technically in the right place, the best thing to do is make a guess on where you think
your track will get the most views.
If you think it will appeal to House lovers, stick it in ‘House’
If it crosses genre’s stick it in mashups.
If you have no idea, stick it in ‘Other’
But I would recommend using the ‘Other’ forum as a last resort as it doesnt seem to get as much activity.AdSense 336x280June 17, 2008 at 1:36 am #651344

ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantHehe, Ive got nothing against Yorkshire men unless their welli boots are 2 sizes too big!
If anyones confused Ill post the thought behind this comment in the ‘Fun Zone!’
(I cant find a sheep in the ‘View more Emoticons’!!)
I used to live in Thirsk btw, so know the North Yorks a little bit. Many a good time
spent in York, so many pubs!!!
As an under-age drinker you would always find 1 place that would serve you eventually!
I missed your PM but have responded now.

matmoo_kParticipant2 sizes too big????? i ask ya. Mine are 4 too big. heh. At 30 years old i think that makes me ‘fully fledged yorkshire man #1’lol
Ah York, another of the 24 hour cities. All well and good if you want to go on a ‘ghost walk’ after your pint.
I remember a midnight excursion to York where I……………… heh thats for another time.
(put it this way, it involves a ghostwalk sign, a traffic cone and york minster. eh fun times)

ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantIf a story about a night out in York doesnt contain reference to a road cone then you must simply have forgotten about it.
Even the story about the fairy liquid and the water fountains in the high street will often
end in the council putting road cones around it until the ‘anti drunken idiot’ squad turns
up to get rid of the bubbles.AdSense 336x280June 17, 2008 at 5:05 am #651371
djshadesukParticipantChunkycoldmedina wrote:Even the story about the fairy liquid and the water fountains in the high streetHmm, sounds familiar except our "fancy" 3 tier fountains are in the middle of one of the towns busiest roundabouts! [Sadly no emoticons for dodging late night taxis… and the fuzz!]

JuggernautParticipantYork……brings back horrible HORRIBLE memories of being stuck in an all girls school (fine, that was in Harrogate, but still. i hated and still hate my parents for it)
Back on topic, The test pressings is a bit all over the place. What i’ve pretty much set for myself is if that person’s track is meant to be for one particular place (usually by how they type and their previous work) i’ll delete the double post in the mashup section. if people want to be known as "mashup artists" especially if they call their track a "mash" (not so much blend) then their duplicate post in another genre is deleted.
cut n dry, just like my Gin. yeah!
….i just realised i’m actually up at 8.30 in the freaking morning….what’s the world coming to?!
