SteelzukParticipantDid you know that it was 130 years today that sound was first ever recorded by thomas edison! So a big thanks to the lad!
Do you think he would have bothered if he knew it was going to be used to make acid house? lol (no offence acid house producers 😉 )AdSense 336x280July 19, 2007 at 7:20 am #629120

SeanzaParticipantI didn’t know that! Nice little fact there!
I’ve moved this to the General chat as it doesn’t really fit in Audio Chat.

SteelzukParticipantThink the recording is still about not 100% sure on this but i think he recorded himself singing the nursery rhyme "mary had a little lamb". Not sure though???

yazza187Participant[quote:1m59rya4]Oldest surviving recordings
Frank Lambert’s lead cylinder recording of an experimental talking clock is thought to be both the oldest surviving sound recording and the oldest surviving playable recording.[2] A recording of a speech by Lord Stanley at the 1888 Toronto Agricultural Fair[3] and a recording of Handel’s choral music from June 29, 1888 at The Crystal Palace in London (the oldest surviving musical recording)[4] are other early examples of recorded sound. These last two sound recordings survived because they were re-recorded onto later formats.[/quote:1m59rya4]
so don’t think it is still around then.
shame though
