slarkinParticipantFound this while looking for ways to get my old software to work on my new vista laptop. No need to buy Wavelab 6 just use this fix it worked a treat for me, I can’t find the site it came from so i uploaded the zip file for anyone interested.
Hope it’s of use.
p.s. only works with version 5.01
p.p.s Looks as though zshare didn’t like the file and deleted it but anyone interested can google it as ‘wavelab 5.01b fix for vista’ and that will give you loads of sites to download the fix from.

matmoo_kParticipanteasiest way to keep things working……keep xp.
am not a fan of vista, i know we will all eventually have to make the jump. when MS and other main software player finally stop supporting xp. but untill then……
or
before any mac users give a shout.lol. get a mac, i am a pc user, but i definitely see the potential of mac/leopard. a helluva lot more stable than pc.

slarkinParticipantI hear what your saying and agree, my main computer is running XP, but I wanted a laptop to be a bit more mobile and for some reason, here in Sweden, it is impossible to buy anything but vista. I spent two months trying, what can you do.
On the other hand if some guy sat in a bedroom can write this fix (which is where it came from) then why can’t the tech heads who work for these big companies do it instead of making people buy new versions of software just so it will work on vista.

matmoo_kParticipantgood point fella. if it ain’t there you can’t get it. lol. it’s the same here in the UK. VISTA EVERYWHERE. the main problem is, most new pc manufacturers are making it so laptops are hella difficult to upgrade too. vista only hardware is one stunt they’re pulling. and it’s more expensive to buy an oem of xp than it is vista. only by £20ish. but thats not the point.
using SATA harddrives is another. i know some of you out there are gonna cry ‘get a USB floppy and a SATA driver’ i had a lappy that i tried to downgrade the other week. i tried for a week solid, with no avail. and i ain’t a slouch when it comes to computer knowledge. i tried countless SATA drivers. but without knowing what board was in the laptop it was fruitless.
i even contacted the manufacturer, who wasn’t very forthcoming with motherboard info. i didn’t wanna open it up and butcher the screws, as it was practically a brand-spanking new machine. (second hand to me, but only a coupla months old.was under warranty until 2010)
and i am using ‘past-tense’ on purpose, it annoyed me so much. i let it go back to the seller with a genuine greivance…..vista’s horrible….long live XP. lol.
there’s only so much you can do with a new OS and older ‘working’ software. and pretty glass effects will never get past that.
it’s an MS conspiracy people.
(calmed down now, rant over)

slarkinParticipantIt’s all about the money, thats why I wanted people to know about this fix, it ain’t much but if it helps someone, all to the good.

matmoo_kParticipantprops to you fella. and as we know wavelab isn’t cheap. even the upgrade price is pricey.
