Bofink_MCParticipantHi,
I find the KnOckOut plugin extremely handy as it extract the vocals with perfection!
However, I needed to reinstall the plugin yesterday, but I can not longer find it on the internet (the link used to be http://www.freewebs.com/st3pan0va/ ).
Does anyone know where to get it nowadays, or can someone post it here?AdSense 336x280June 6, 2014 at 5:45 pm #702779
niallspenceParticipantFor anyone that is interested I’ve reposted the kn0ck0ut (knockout) VST zip online as the original host is down.
Get it here:

Bofink_MCParticipantThanx a lot niallspence!
KnOckOut is highly recommended if you haven’t tried it!AdSense 336x280June 12, 2014 at 1:49 am #702820
Synthetik FMParticipantOk, another example. This song:
You dropped a bomb on me – Gap band
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saHMPRB30uQThis is of course the original 13 minute version. There is one unique aspect to the song which makes it easy to rip the vocals: The whole song is based around the same beat and bassline, so it is possible to overlay those same 16 bars throughout the entire song to make a template to bounce out the vocals.
Tricky part: The drum rhythm is played by a human, not a drum machine, so it is not exact. Therefore, when using acid’s beatmapper to overlay the 16 bar riff, the tempo must constantly be corrected in the original song at every interval to make both parts match up as closely as possible.
Then, once this is one, hard pan each track left and right, render a wav, put it into Nero Wav editor and slap the Karaoke filter on it. I did about 40% pan on the vocal and it got a nice result. There is some noise still in there, its not perfect, but the vocals are clear while the bass is nonexistent and the drums are de-emphasized.
This one (with luck) should also be in the downloads within about a week, pending approval by the acapellas4u mods.
EDIT: Having some probs, seems the system doesn’t like me uploading 20mb mp3 files …

MelantemusicParticipantI don’t understand the phase cancellation part? Why do i have to need one instrumental track and the original track?
Does the two tracks interract with eachother so that the vocals only can be heard? Many questions I know but I want to understand the process
and maybe the best way to do that is to do what you describe. And by the way inverting is not reversing (playing backwards) to answer DJ_Brady, it is turning inside out and how can one inverted instrumental track
cancel out the instrumentals in the original track? Is the both tracks on top of eachother or do I have to use two "track-lanes"? One track lane for the inverted instrumental
and the other lane for the original track. I know I don’t have to ask that, I just have to test it. But I find this quiet interesting or funny because i now understand the cancellation part (I think) 😉
I did not have to write this shitty post but maybe it will be useful for others.(Sorry if i use bad English)
All good!AdSense 336x280September 18, 2014 at 11:54 pm #703328

RatherBe2000ParticipantIs there any way to make an Acapella in Audacity without the instrumental? I’ve tried finding an instrumentation for "Reason" by Cascada, and I for the life of me could not find any. I’ve tried making my own instrumental in Audacity, but that never worked because the instrumental was too watery and misshapen. I need help with that. Someone place reply.

anishitythirmParticipantIf possible, do not purchase the most expensive vancouver real estate property that is located on the street. Choose a good area or location when it comes to buying a property. Remember this – it is best to buy an average house in the best area, than to buy the most excellent house in the worst area. Location is definitely very important.

GorillazzParticipantNone of those really worked. Utagoe actually works very well but not well enough. Can somebody tell me how I can make an acapella (w/ instrumental) that actually sounds good.
