TiMGParticipantnot my kinda music but its groovy and very slick production-wise
i wouldnt say its mastered badly but if it were mastered a bit better it would make it a lot more effective and playoutable. i’d try making the kick and snare a bit snappier if poss, with a some compression on the mix carefully pumpin it without losing definition. maybe try a sidechain from the kick to the synth.
this is all pickyness and down to taste! its very good. u should be making some $$ from your productions

EdParticipantCheers for the reply Tim. I totally agree with your comments I think as it is it’s a little flat and could certainly do with a bit of sharpening up.
Never really been very good at the mastering side myself but Pilch (alcapella) is more than capable when he set’s his mind to it !!
Acapella – …. finger ….. out ….. pull …..(just kidding

acapellaKeymasterHey some replies – about bloody time to
Cheers everyone for your feedback.
Cj – I’m a cans man only purely cus of living in apartments (could never have the volume I’m used to with monitors.
My process for mastering (laughs) = runnin’ the 24bit .wav through MultibandComp in Wavelab. By no means do I really know what I’m doing really but if anyone WOULD like to offer to have me send all the parts and MASTER it for me please be my guest.
Cheers guys
p.s I would really love to hear more feedback when I post AND whenl other members take the time to post their tracks aswell.. come on support the site a bit more and ppl’s efforts will ya! – it’s not all about download pellas π

Well, I’ve never been a fan of long buildups but I think it’s well worth it in this case to set the groove of the track – those main parts are kickass. I cant really listen to house unless its groovy like this.
its hard to put my finger on where the lessened sound quality stems from without knowing how you made the track. Sounded dry in the spots where there wasnt a bassline but I bet you can make it sound fine when you’re mixing on set.

Reason for scratch pallete of sounds.
LiVE for final sequencing +
Wavelab 5 for mild mastering.AdSense 336x280December 29, 2004 at 3:44 pm #567947

AvalonSuperstarParticipantWicked, wicked track… can’t wait to hear it at WMC this March.
Is the vocal an original recording or an accapella? If so, where is it from and which artist?
NASTY!

Just listened to it dude! Soundin really hot through my cans at work!
Nice old skool 80s disco accapella…. and some nice pads, lead sounds and efx… make it very Heller & Farley in style… yeah defo Junior Boys Own in my humble opinion!
Would need to hear it through my studio monitors at home to give you proper bo production feedback – but on first impressions – sounds good!
Must catch up soon mate! Say ello to Ed – must write him email too!
DOM[/quote:3d00tz1b]
Hey there Dom.
Gr8 2 hear from ya tbh m8 – sure Ed will reply to this in due time aswell.
One of the more successfull choons that Ed & myself have written over the last yeasr for sure – well, one that’s definetly picking up some good hype all round.. it’s been picked up by Kid Massive’s{Slip ‘n’ Slide}/Nermous other remixes aswell – [www.kidmassive.com] own label “Soundslike”.
Thanks to all your feedback tp it – how did your track get on btw ?
Make It Better – working name (M.I.B) managed 2 get an airring @ MIDEM recently and it’s also gonna feature at the Miami WMC (winks 350Hz)
Will keep u posted as to everything soon as we hook up once more on zee zuper eye-wayz…

acapellaKeymasterbadman wrote:Gotta say mate its the most well rounded and produced tune on this forum yet and a great inspiration to all us budding producers…….Thankyou very much – I was pretty touched by those choice words – means a lot ( to Ed aswell )
badman wrote:Samples are good and the arrangements work well together, but as mentioned before the mastering cud do with a ‘extra touch up’ but all in all EXCELLENT work!!all agreed, we will always aim to put out the best overall mix that we can and hopefully that will be enuff to be able to let the pro’s polish it up to a more highend finished article..
badman wrote:Is there any tips you lot can offer us for realistic funky house sounds because your tune sounds ‘like a propper made commercial house tune’Not usre if this one goes out to me or everyone but I’ll just say that this track, and I think Ed will agree, did the most to-ing and fro-ing between us both. Ed’s my old best mate and we were both interested in Dance Music roughly around the same time, perhaps me a little earlier on my old OctaMed v3 on my Amiga 500.
Tips, well to be honest, a lot of people still worry WHICH software they should be using.. we’ve all probably done that and some of us still do it more (perhaps they feel they’re missingout on something) cus sometimes to write good quality house music it’s not as easy as often is assumed.
PlayMaker is a fantastic friend – just google his ass to get a feel for his work (he also mods this section so there’s some encouragement in itself surely ????/
π eager eyes prey these forums you know π
Anyway – I’m pretty wasted (coud you tell ) ?/

EdParticipantHey guys,
thanks for all the lovely feedback. The only advise I could give to Badman is to do what sounds good to you as opposed to copying someone else style.
and – don’t get to wasted whilst writing as everything sounds like the best thing you’ve every come out with – untill you return to normality
all the best – good luck

acapellaKeymaster[quote quote="magic":3r2oyydr]wow, great arrangement all the way, love it.
for a headphone mix this sure sounds goodΒ΄n nice on outdooor PA, I just tested it out. At home the vocals seem a bit burried, but here at a stadium it sounds very well balanced, and it got the stage crew and two dozen other people instantly in just the right mood, thaΒ΄s pretty much all that counts, ha?[/quote:3r2oyydr]Now we just LOVE hearing about our stuff being played out..
STADIUM you say, what, where, how ???

acapellaKeymasterSylvia Saint’s heard “Make it Better” ? – oh jees, I think I’m gonna shoot me load right now… she’s witnessed a few of those π
played on a stadium’s system – awesome…
