SeanzaParticipantI think the problem is that artists are now selling them for album prices and probably don’t have the audio rights, you used to be able to get mixtapes for dirt cheap. You really were paying for only the cover n CD costs.
I dunno man, it’s a crayz world out there with mixtapes. Maybe they are becoming illegal! But that’s only coz people have abused the way a mixtape should be!

BuBaParticipantIts illegal to sell tapes if u hadn’t pay any copyrights.
Tricky part is that if u pay only cover and CD costs u might get empty CD and if that happens if title says mixtape that would mean that u been fooled. Don`t think that ever happens.
If you don`t pay any loyalties to artist or to production house its illegal.
Most of artist also wont bother with small times selling them although its not legal, but if big sites are selling then this could be law infringement.

dj’s like envy are all in on the promotional aspect of the mixtape industry…. admitedly thier cds are full of all the latest club smasehes and singles…. but im pretty sure that the record companies are backing these releases to break the songs on radio. I would have thought its more the smaller djs using limewire etc to source their tracks for mixtapes than the bigger dj’s gettingsent the whitelables that are fucking up the mixtape culture???
just my opinion thoV.V.
