kevinroconnorParticipantOk, so I’ve been messing around w/ throwing stuff like The Fray and Snow Patrol, that sort of thing into mixes over a 4×4 live. So I thought, why not mess around and do a "remix" so to speak of a song. So here is my first little ditty. Lemme know what you guys think.
Thanks

Funky MunkyParticipantI was looking for a remix of this everywhere and halfway through listening to it this might just be the one I need for my crowds
Any chance you could upload at 192 or even 320kps? 128 just isnt up to scratch these days

That would be a bonus mate cheers. Im burning this to CD for my gig tongiht now, if you manage to get the new version up at a higher kps before I leave the house later that would be even better
Im looking forward to the reaction on this one, am gonna play it as the last or 2nd last tune of the night to give it that special timong kinda feel as its one tune people seem to love on the radio but, till now, theres been no remixes of it.
The remix itself is very simplistic in nature but more often than not they work the best

kevinroconnorParticipantHere ya go buddy…
Uploaded in 320 and a 32 intro and outro. Please let me know how it goes. I’m very interested to hear how something like this goes over. Cuz I have 3 others in the works of the same style.

trapdoorspiderParticipantthis one sounds great, but the bass sound that you’re using doesn’t match the base note of the song — it doesn’t kill it, may not be too noticeable in clubs or whatnot, but if you could nudge that bass sound to be in key with the rest this would be really awesome…

fazParticipantMy honest opinion mate, it’s just a beat over The Fray-that’s it.
I presume this is one of your first remixes?
What you need to do is make the beat match the song so where the bassline starts, it needs to move up and down in key along with the song. A lot of playing about at the beginning gets you excellent results and you will notice the improvement yourself. Once you’ve mastered this, start adding effects and synths.
Try Acid Pro rather than Cool Edit as the latter is simply a wave editing program where as Acid Pro is designed for bootlegs/remixes and is a nice piece of starter software.
EDIT. You didn’t mention that you use Cool Edit, that was a different post from somebody else LOL

I realize that it is very basic. It wasn’t meant to be this big accapella remix. It was meant to be basic. A beat behind the song. That’s it. I really hadn’t seen a dance beat behind this song before, so that was the inspiration more than anything. And also, I did use Acid. I could add synths and stuff like that, but in my opinion, it would take away from the piano part already in the song. Simplicity is sometimes way better than an over convoluted remix. In my humble opinion.

This is true, but it has to work. With that reasoning, any tune with a beat thrown into the background will sound good.
I always look at dance remixes as "would I play that or would I hear that ina club", and this one I wouldn’t the way it is.
Just my opinion mate

CultorParticipantSorry but in my opinion you harm songs like these in a awful way. This song wants to send a emotional message into the world, this is just a way to ruin that message.

It’s awful stuff
