slarkinParticipantI have recently changed from Cubase sx3 to Sonar 7. I have sonar running great on my main computer with xp sp2, however I have just bought a new laptop and after days of trailing round shops trying to find something with xp I had to admit defeat and buy one with vista home premium installed. I have installed sonar and it seems to work fine I just can’t hear anything, I’ve tried everything I can think of, even downloaded ASIO4all, still nothing but a faint squeak. I have Reason 4 running with no problems in fact ASIO4all solved my latency probs in reason. I just want to be able to load some tracks and check mixes on other systems easily.
Can anyone help, is this a problem with vista? I was going to buy an external sound card but don’t wanna waste money if the problem lies with the os, I was assured Sonar was vista compatible, this was part of the reason for the switch from cubase (the other was value for money).
Also does anyone know of vista drivers for Roland pc 300 usb keyboard, checked with Roland and they say no but that don’t always mean they’re not out there
Any help would be much appreciated

slarkinParticipantI did eventually find a solution that got it working, it was so simple that even the guys at Cakewalk missed it and I only found it by accident. If you click on ‘options’ then ‘audio’ and select the advanced tab you’ll find a box that says ‘Driver mode’ look in the drop down and select ‘MME 32 bit’. It worked for me so hope it helps.
