Tech44ParticipantOk..here’s a few I’d like to know:
——————————————————
#1Where I heard it > Urban Shakedown – Bass Speaker
Sample says > “Bass, you hear it through your speakers, add the treble and your body grows weaker”
See “Bass.mp3”
——————————————————-
#2Where I heard it > Kaotic Chemistry – Space Cakes
Sample says > “You are the people of chemistry…”
See sample “peopleof.mp3”
————————————–
#3Where I heard it > Direckt – Two Fatt Guitars Rmx
Sample says > “??…and I’ll Rock to the Beat” (ragga-ish)
See sample “soul.mp3”
————————————
#4Where I’ve heard it > around…no specific track
Sample says > “Everybody in the streets, get down to the funky beat” (female > not
the bomb the bass version)no sample
———————————–
Any help is appreciated.

ProcleusParticipantI’ve been rackin my brain and searchin the net, but so far no dice on “Bass Speaker”. If I remember right, that track came out in 1992, and I’ve heard the sample in a couple of other tracks. I’m trying to narrow down the search to acid house acapellas, hip-house acapellas, and British rap acapellas, all of which were big sources of lyrics round then…

jerver73Participantlike i said, it comes off a sample record, so you re bound to find it in a whole lot of tracks…

Tech44Participantwell..I think the sample record got it off the song, but I could be wrong. I just do think there were that many sample records in the mid 80’s and most of them were samples taken from songs (simon harris, unknown djs).
It was just one part of the lyrics:
Everybody in the street, get down to the funky beat
People won’t you come along, get down to the funky song…
etc
or something like that..

jerver73Participantcurious about what tune that might have been, you are right about the simon harris thing, most of his samples where from actual songs…
