coojuiceParticipantI had a little bother over the weekend with a trojan but have since managed to remove it so i’ll post how I removed it incase anyone else has the misfortune of this.
This is how I removed it on my PC which has Vista so It may be different for other opperating systems:
1. Boot up in safe mode by pressing f8 continuously after your computer beeps once, but before the windows icon appears.
2. Select the first option "Run windows in safe mode" then press enter.
3. Choose your usual account.
4. Ensure you can view "Hidden files" by going into the control panel, double click "folder options" (you may need to change to classic view), in the folder options select the "view" tab, then in the advanced options make sure "show hidden folders and files" is highlighted.
5. Next navigate to and delete the following files if found:
C:\Program Files\ Video Add-on\icmntr.exe
C:\Program Files\ Video Add-on\icthis.exe
C:\Program Files\ Video Add-on\isfmdl.dll6. Next navigate to and delete the following folder if found:
C:\Program Files\ Video Add-on
7. Reboot computer as normal.
Hopefully this should solve any problems and save you hours of trying to get rid of it like I did! lol

ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantEvery virus is different and the process of tracking one down on a pc is different everytime.
However, points 1-4 you make are priceless information for anyone who does not know.AdSense 336x280March 26, 2008 at 9:10 am #646445

KG87Participantheh, Or alternative you could register for AVAST 4.8 (home edition) for nothing. And get relatively good vir/trojan protection for nothing.
Also you may want to consider spybot search and destroy. It’s a tad sensitive but sooo many time thats helped me out

Flashy_2K7ParticipantI had three trojans before, removed hem in the way you said. It works!
Heads up: DON’T try deleting a virus, once it gets into he recycle bin, it has access to all of your programs that use the recycle bin!

That way we’d never been troubled by viruses, unless we delete one of course.
