dcmusicParticipantI know these are real beginner questions, but if somebody can clear up for me these questions about dj’ing:
1. I wanted a CD turntable that just does the basics, tempo and pitch change, crossfading and a little bit of scratching, and more importantly mix 2 songs at the same time. Can somebody recommed a good cheap, turntable I can buy online, that is under US$250?2. To mix 2 songs at the same time, is there such thing as a double deck turtable, or do all dj’s buy two turtables and connect both of them to the mixer?
3. Ive looked up this question, but didnt understand it. What is a direct drive?
Thanks in advanced

On CD player you don’t have to care about how the cds rotation’s made. 😉My Question (it’s probably not the right subforum and the anser allready exists but..)
whats the Digg It and del.ico.us for?

djsobeatsParticipantdirect drive is the alternative o belt drive….direct drive is when the wheel turns through a motor directly…. pioneers are the best cd decks available but only a select few give you the scratch capability

I don’t know of any such product.
[/quote:1wff2itf]
There is no. wouldn’t make much sense.
Everyone I’ve seen uses 2 tables and a mixer, whether it’s vinyl or cd it doesn’t really matter.
[/quote:1wff2itf]
Well actually it does matter, there are no double vinyl decs, but systems with two dj-cd-players exists. however their not much cheaper than two cheap dj-cd-player. (mostly dearer)
The mixer gives you so much to work with… ie, the crossfader and eq controls.
[/quote:1wff2itf]
Never thought of that. There are eq? realy?

If you’re strapped for cash, you could probably get started with just one table and a mixer. Then plug your computer into the other channel (of the mixer) and mix like that.
It’s cumbersome depending on what you choose to play your songs with on the computer…
[/quote:1wff2itf]
Right, its cumbersome and I dont think about this as a good idea. If you’ve got a pc on the other chanel you need a programm to pitch. That costs also if you want to keep it legal. You wont have the same pleasure as if you start with full equipment.
Then for the start that programm alone would suffice to find out if mixing is the right way to spread your creativity. If you are strapped for cash, get later dj cd player (cd’s cheaper than vinyl) but save the money till you can buy full equipment.

but it’s a possible way to get started.

Yes it is possible indeed.AdSense 336x280 -
