Flop SimsParticipantHey, new to the site, at the below links you can listen to pretty much everything I’ve put together thus far.
Turn Da Funk Loose was my first mash-up attempt. It’s pretty straight and simple, nothing too fancy, and generally kind of mediocre. There’s also a shorter edit available with some Young Jeezy and Rick Ross lyrics.
Stuck On Camera and Praise Your Energy were my first major mash-up attempts. Basically – since I was just experimenting – I took a couple of repetitive beats by folks like Evil Nine, SebastiAn, Little Boots and Fatboy Slim and mashed other samples within those core beats.
Coulda Been a Hollaback was my next attempt and still a lot like SOC and PYE, but instead containing short mixes made up of several different artists all accompanied by mostly hip-hop lyrics – all rolled into one long track.
Feeling Separate Inc. I finished yesterday and I tried going with the "less is more" philosophy, using fewer samples.
Passin’ My Ode to the Sure Shot I made today, took me about 3 hours and… it’s a lot different from anything I’ve done yet, kind of a cheesy rap with Beethoven’s "Ode to Joy" at the core with a funky beat I put together. Sort of a "just for fun" track, I’m definitely more into the electric sound.
