fgp303ParticipantDJM-1000 new Professional DJ Mixer
Stoke Poges, 18 January 2005
Pioneer introduces a 24-bit / 96 kHz
6 Channel Professional Club MixerAfter much industry speculation Pioneer announces the availability of the DJM-1000 professional DJ mixer. The DJM-1000 is a robust installation grade mixer with the highest quality digital audio, enhanced functionality and intuitive design. It’s the result of extensive industry research and development with world-renowned DJs, club technicians and installation engineers.
The DJM-1000 employs Pioneer’s expertise in audio technology to create a high-end reference audio mixer that is easily connected to traditional DJ equipment as well as other digital devices like samplers, effectors and digital turntables – giving professional DJs uncompromised performance and the flexibility to perform the best possible sets.
“We continue to see growth in the DJ market and the need for creating professional, as well as innovative, digital products” said Jason Pook, Product Planning Manager for Pioneer Europe. “Pioneer remains committed to offering the high quality equipment demanded by professional DJs and clubs around the world. The DJM-1000 is an example of that commitment.”
Pioneer’s heritage in digital technology has been used to create a high-grade digital audio path for the DJM-1000. The mixer has a 24-bit/96kHz digital sampling rate and a 32-bit/96kHz digital sound processor. The DJM-1000’s digital input-output signal path allows for transparent signal processing of Pioneer’s CDJ and DVJ series of digital decks, ensuring the best possible sound quality. Analogue input signals are also digitised by a high quality A/D converter and mixed without any deterioration to the audio. The unit has a rigid chassis to minimise vibrations and a high performance power supply to produce clear, powerful sound.
The inclusion of a 3-band Master Isolator allows the user to control the levels from +6dB to – ∞ (Kill) dB in each band. It can also be used to attenuate and accent partial bands. A 17 phase fader curve allows adjustment not only of the cross fader curve but also the curves of the channel faders. This enables DJs to customise the feel of the mixer to suit their own personal style.
The DJM-1000 is also designed to integrate easily with the new Pioneer EFX-1000 Effector along with future Pioneer Pro-DJ products. All will share the same high quality sound and can be controlled via digital links to give even greater variety to a DJ’s performance.
Unique features and industry firsts included on the DJM-1000 are: A new Sound Link / EFX Link function that is used to control other Pioneer equipment via a link cable. A BPM Synchronise Function that synchronises the BPMs of all attached equipment, i.e. CDJs and an EFX unit. A Visual Link Button used when other visual equipment is connected, which enables control of visual effects and fades with the Pioneer MIDI cross fader.
“In complete honesty the DJM – 1000 is the best all round mixer I’ve ever used. The problem I’ve had with mixers in the past is that there has never been one that has it all just right for me. The perfect mixer was always a cross between two or three different mixers. What makes a good mixer is a number of things and this has them all. Awesome sound, tank style build, two send and returns for separate FX units which can both be digitally linked and controlled by the cross-fader which also boasts complete curve control. At last someone has made a mixer I’d be happy to use in any situation. Whether it’s DVJing, Effecting, Scratching or fluid beat matching this is the all round winner.” James Z abiela, DJ.

19” Rackmount / Tabletop design

junoParticipantsquiffy wrote:I was going to buy one of those, but then I realised I only had two decks and 7 channels was a bit excessive…Yeah if you ever want to hook up an extra table just plug it in the phono RCA’s and switch back and forth…..This one works best if you have 2 or more people working beat machines, tables, cd players, keyboards – i would imagine it’d be pretty difficult to keep up with 6 or 7 inputs at one time by yourself.
AdSense 336x280January 24, 2005 at 7:51 pm #568349
rinski2000ParticipantIt seems to be a bit over the top or not quite enough, Its too much for a DJ (if you know someone who can mix 7 decks at once let me know) but its not quite enough for a band. I suppose you could use it if you had a dj scratching and playing some beatsect, a few vocalists and some guitars or key-boards ect for a stage act, or practice jams. I wouldnt pay so much for something id never use. In my case its like me buying i bus to drive to work and back in. Ive got a four channel vestax mixer but a 2 would be fine as i can flick the switch from Aux to Digital, i cant mix 3 or four at once yet.

squiffyParticipantfgp303 wrote:total digital shit it will not make to good quality of sound… another pimp to the qualityCorrect me if I’m wrong, but at the sample rates that are quoted, you shouldn’t notice the difference. Also, with digital mixers the signal isn’t passed directly through the faders as in analogue mixers, so there’s no colouring of the sound. Of course people won’t really notice that blared through a Kilowatt system anyway…

I’ve got this dvd at home where a guy controlls 9 tables at once all running simultaniously. One with a beat, one with strings, one with a synth, one with a bass, etc. He did this ambient d’n’b track with it all. Looked mental.
