DJ AkiraParticipantAlright, I’m trying to do some DIY both acapella and instrumentals. But if i get the acapella down first then i can defnitly do instrumentals. Here is the deal.
The song I’m doing (It is Bloods and Crips – K’s Up) sadly it has no available instrumental (or that I am aware of and no acapella for sure). I’m using Adobe Audition 2.0 and I’m trying ot do the cancellation method and it isn’t working well. Tell me any techniques that I could try or practice. I could use the acapella function but it leaves the drums (especially the infamous annoying snare!) Please anybody got some advice or techniques to this? your help will be appreciated!

leeroyparnellParticipantuse a loop of the drums in the track to knock out or at least reduce the volume of the drums. if you get the drums to a sufficiently quiet level, they shouldn’t have any adverse effect on any uses in mixing (provided you are mixing to something that has a drum track). It’s not always possible to make every sound disappear, you must always find a middle ground between quality of the vocal performance and volume of background instrumentation. If you remove all the drums, but mangle the vocals with digital artifacts in the process, you are worse for wear.

DJ AkiraParticipantproblem. There is no open drum loop piece available. Except the chorus but the chorus has a annoying compton accompining it. But thanx, I’m still experimenting.Unless the drums are sample from another song, but idono.

leeroyparnellParticipantIn that case you may just try using noise reduction software, i.e. Wave X-Noise or the Noise Reduction in Adobe Audition, using the chorus as your noise profile and -keeping-the-settings-low-
