ddoubleParticipantright i have just started learning how to use logic but i dont use outboard equipement (or even midi)
how do i use the ex24 (on board sampler) to load samples into the main arragnement window?
how do i get a file from the harddrive onto the sequencer window?
any help woul be greatly appreciated!

Are u try learn on pc or mac and which version ? (i can help)
if u are on mac opcion button + 9 will open the audio window where u can import the audio tracks what u want use (only load vav/aiff/snd) and after from this window u can drop to main arrangement.
Are u already build environment or just launch logic ?The onboard sampler very easy only need open in the audio intrument chanel.

ddoubleParticipantim on mac and have an autoload environment set up by some one already.
i tryed what u said and it told me my esx-24 has expired and i need to insert the cd
ill get in contact with the guy i brought it from.
one little question though, i cant get any sound to come out of the line out except the metronome, what setting to i need to change to make logic send the audio out the line out? or is this just becuase i need to put the cd in when it asks?

pmidcalfParticipantI use Logic 4.7 and Logic Express, simply because 4.7 only runs in OS 9.2 and Express can run on OS 10.3.8, regarding setting up then you really need to have someone who knows there to help you because going into preferences and changing the settings is only going to f*ck things up even more, all i will say is for the sound start at the beginning and check all your audio settings. EXS should be working in Instruments, do not try it on an audio track, but you should go out and get a midi controler keyboard and midi interface
