FRYDAEParticipantnot a single person made mention of log 8? gosh if your down w/ the fruit (mac) and your not messin w/ log your lettin yourself down!! Ive been on an apple/mac since the 2e (why did i have to sell that? shit would look sooooo dank sittin next to the g5 for "look how far we’ve come factor) but via school was "raised" if you will on pro-tools. The fact that i primarily make jungle and dubstep i soon realized that pro-tools was limited as far as sequencing etc. for quite some time i was forced by system requirements & lack of $ to stick w/ digidesign…..As of this year (thank you economic stimulus check) ive switched to logic 8 and have never looked back!!! For anyone who hasnt you owe it to yourself a trip to the apple store to peep 8.from the very first night i switched my output has literally quadrupled. unlike ableton (which has been shown by countless worldclass artist to be a revolutionary piece of software) the interface is intuitive and easy to look @. I love it!!! hahahaha wow i think after that apple owes me (ill settle for a dancing in profile ipod commercial) for the plug…..Steve jobs if your listening…holla

JuggernautParticipantHello.
Do you think you could maybe do some paragraphs or something? i’ve actually not read past your first line because it’s a bit overwhelming.
Anyway there are people here who use all sorts of DAW’s ranging from Fruity Loops..if one could call it such, and i think one can/will through Abelton, Acid, Logic, Soundtracks, Cubase, Cakewalk/Sonar, Reason etc etc. and even some tracking software.
Logic 8 is ok. but it’s overkill for what most people are doing round these parts. Truth be told there are a lot of big (dance) tracks out there that were produced on Fruity Loops.
A bad workman blames his tools.

My switch from CubaseSX to Logic made a HUGE difference.
But its like choosing a car, it depends what you want from it and if you feel comfortable with it.
I found Logic 7 painful to use, 8 is much better but the audio editing is still pants.
Im still a diehard Logic fan despite this.AdSense 336x280September 27, 2008 at 7:36 pm #657117

FRYDAEParticipantWow!!! Juggs your totally spot on… every English teacher I’ve EVER had would’ve been ALL over that drunken run on sentence with NUFF’ red pen corrections!! Looking past the grammatical errors, did my comment make any sense? Rereading it I guess I understand what i was saying (seems other folks did) but fair nuff’ i suppose. Truthfully the ONLY time I find time to "hit the forums" is when im pissed (drunk for my yankee brethren) nuff’ to be on the computer, not workin on music.
Thank you Jugg for keeping my grammar up to par. Although, Im sure my MUM’s less then appreciative knowing that all those $’s she spent on University could’ve just been paypal’d to Accapellas4u in order for me to learn to pen timeless prose like
"Anyway there are people here who use all sorts of DAW’s ranging from Fruity Loops..if one could call it such, and i think one can/will through Abelton, Acid, Logic, Soundtracks, Cubase, Cakewalk/Sonar, Reason etc etc. and even some tracking software. "
Jugg, I dont know you from a whole in the wall and im SURE you’ll "ban" me for testing you superior moderator dick size but for real…..cmaaaaan! this is a audio production based site and your really bored enough to dog on my run on sentence? seriously? your first line states

I love to get online and shine and drop bombs
but my music can be found on more than dot coms (word up)
Your website gets a whole lot of hits (right)
but in the real world son you ain’t sayin shit

Always tryin to get someone to chatroom battle
Cryin cause heads only rhyme one syllable
Who made the rule you gotta use every millisec

OI! And Ive NEVER EVEN SEEN FL therefore have no opinion about it… dunno where that "point" you was making came from bredren….I’ve not been near a p.c. except for my job in years. At this point in time Im sure ALL the apps are to par for what "most people are doing" I guess if i had indented so "most people" could read past the 1st sentence, "most" folks wouldve seen i was ONLY refrenceing MACS….this convo seems to be running as smooth as Vista + the Bill Gates & Seinfeld windows adverts….
Oh yeah and after all this if there are any LOGIC 8 users on here that have managed to sift through this quagmire of online "beef" please contact a dude if you’d like to actually make music instead of talk "intershit"

Starting a "beef" in the US means argument/grudge. When someone has a problem with you they’ll say "What’s your beef?"

JuggernautParticipantYes Yes, i know about american colloqualisms, considering my mum lives there and i’m over there regularly.
I was being sarcastic….it’s amazing how the lack of a smilie makes things seem so serious.
(note for Bobby, don’t take much of me seriously…that’s for peeps who don’t know me
)

*Wooooooooooooooosh* Did you hear that? It was the sound of Sarcasm flying over Bobbys head!

You know…..when I was posting that I’m thinkin’"I wonder if that was sarcastic or not?" I almost didn’t. But we butcher (no pun intended) the English language over here so much, sometimes I can’t even keep up. I wasn’t trying to insult anyone’s intelligence. I think it was the "…it sounds horrible part." was what made me do it. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. BTW here’s my smiley.
