I made a little intro, It may be a bit noisy, im listening through earphones.
Theres helicopters,gunshots,sirens… old music i.e. Martika in the background.. so it gives the impression theres like a war going on but with music playing behind.. then music stops and you hear a gun being cocked and shot, then theres fans chanting Eminem…theres a cool feelin when the song starts then. Let me know what you think.This is another ´´crazy´´ idea I came up with, I haven´t done a lot of work on it, but want to post the small parts I´ve done, just so see other people´s view. It´s an inventive idea, mixing The last of the mohicans / Celtic Bagpipe music with Like Toy Soldiers vocals from Eminem, it could work, if its in better hands, so if I fail in producing a good mix, it would be cool if someone could take this idea or, mix this song, with a completely different kind of music. Obviously it would be hard to make a dance version of Like Toy Soldiers, so I reckon mixing with this kind of music would be cool. I changed the music half way in and put some Dj scratches in, and when Eminem says ´´was never my object for someone to get killed´´ , I threw in some gay kind of heaven music lol, could sound okay with effort. I would appreciate any sort of feedback on this.

**remember that i record my things ”live’ witout softwares…i use a dj console and virtualdj no forge acid or something like that i perform this live…

junoParticipantYou problem may be that you have that file in some kinda jacked up compression format
my browser never has trouble with downloading these attachments except this one. i keep getting a message saying that my player needs updates – then no updates available for this type of extension.
the Others section of the Test Pressings isnt always the most popular with listeners – so dont be discouraged if there isnt loads of feedback

dj_canedParticipantI really dont know what to write to be honest, I agree with what magic says there dont seem to be any real sense of rhythm here. Theres some nice ideas just problems with how its been put together.

Wow dude, I must be really wrong. Sorry I have trained in music for 17 years and worked in the industry DJ’in and producing for the last 5. Now I see that this remix is the best thing since sliced bread, it will be picked up by a label and pop fans will drool over the album.
Is that what you want to hear?
Im speaking my honest opinion in my previous post. Take the feedback as something you can build on the track with or send it around to some labels and get pretty much the same responce as mine and magics. Fact of the matter is this is a forum, people have opinions and speak there mind….. whats the point in kissing each others ass. I will always give honest CONSTRUCTIVE critism.

Ok, It’s Cool If YOU Like It, Everyone Has Their Own Taste, But Don’t Moan When You Post Something Like This And Get The Feedback It Actually Deserves… Do You Really Want To Get False Props? That Ain’t What The Forum Is About.

junoParticipanti’m very open to experimental stuff so I will say good concept. but truthfully the vocals are not on beat. meaning the words with emphasis that usually fall on the downbeats are not in correct time. listen to the original song and to his rythm as he flows over the beat – this rythm cant be felt unless the tempos are matched exactly.

You either increase the vocal bpm to match the bpm of the instrumental or vice versa but, I´ve often had both acapella and instrumental with the same BPM and it just doesn´t work. Sometimes when BPMS are matched exactly the tunes will not work because theres no way they can possibly work together. Take a d’n’b track running at 170bpm and mix it with a tune running 120bpm and its not gonna work 😉 Nothing you can do except choose differant tunes, generally beatmatching is the correct approach except in a few situations.

junoParticipantwhatever sequencer you put this together in – first match a beat up to the those bagpipes (i think it was). that should make it easier to hear how the vocals should fit – erase the beat if you dont want it in there after that. if you’re doing this on live performance software like a dj simulator – you can download free metronomes or just tap you finger to get the rythm.
you just have to listen for the words with emphasis like I was saying – sometimes you can even match up the words just by looking at the wave patterns of the vocals and beats in a sequencer. you’ll get the hang of it and eventually you’ll be able to get it done in a few minutes.

DJ_BradyParticipantCool thanks a lot for the feedback, I use Virtual DJ, its live so..in other words I have to get rid of this to improve.. I find this program easier because it doesn´t take as much time up, and you dont have to cut,paste thing here and there you just have everything cued so you click to get to part of a song. I have SoundForge 6.0 but don´t use it. Would this be any use?
