coojuiceParticipantRite, there are loads amongst us that seem to know all the ins and outs of creating diy
acapellas but could we please post in this topic the idiot proof ways?I myself, like many of the users on here know didly squat about the subject and would like to hear some good explanations that we can actually understand.
Please keep in mind that alot of us are just starting out and are interested in learning how to create our own tracks using these methods.
Putting a downer on someone’s hopes straight away isn’t really fair, is it?
So lets see some genuine help here …

djslash20Participantstop posting stupid crap like: yeah! that´s great! tobbaco slammer had a very good idea opening this post. but the rest of you are just posting that kind of shit. if you don´t have nothing to say, stay in silence!!
AdSense 336x280June 9, 2007 at 9:01 am #624556
jabbampParticipantI think its fair enough for people to post their "yeah"’s and "right"’s. It shows how much support for the idea. Telling them to shut up is exactly the whole problem. People want to learn, but feel small and stupid when they are told to get knotted and then they dont really like asking.
This post brought something up that I think would be benificial all round. The more people/novices who get to learn, the more acapellas will end up on the site. If there is someone who can get by any jargon and make it plain for us (ok, I will say idiots, but I really mean novices), it would be well appreciated.

Self_InflictedParticipantI would suggest you use kn0ck0ut, which is a FREE vst, and very simple to use.
Use google to look it up, the website has examples of before and after, and the results are pretty good considering that this vst is free.
I’m suprised that on an acapella site, no-one has really bothered to help out in replying to this thread as I think that tobacco_slammers has come up with a brilliant and very usefull thread here.
shame on you!!!
anyway…I hope this is of some help to some of you, ENJOY!

Just been to the wesite and downloaded this app and read the "readme". Sounds interesting. Of course, I actually need to find the instrumentals for whatever songs first, which I find is hard. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places, but I will try this out when I do find some.
Thanks for this information.

djslash20Participantthis is insane!! this site doesn´t do instrumental, but acapellas. nobody must ask for instrumentals. BUT…!!! you need the f… ck… instrumentals to do one acapella!!! after too many days looking for a website with acapellas, I realise that I need to find a website with instrumentals… because the other methods really sucks!!

Try going into phones4you and asking them to supply a sweet looking receptionist. My guess is you will get a similar respose "we do phones". If you were the salesman, I wonder how long it would be, if people kept asking that question, before you put a sign on the counter informing people not to ask for receptionists.
Anyway, has anyone actually worked out the best way of using that knockout? I cant seem to get anything to a workable degree.
If you see this Self_Inflicted, please let me know if you haver done the tutorial and where i can find it.

disturbedParticipantI am having issues installing the Knockout.dll on my Windows2000 as well for my Soundforge 8.0. When I try to drag the file into the VST folder though the software it wont drag and drop? What am I doing wrong?

coojuiceParticipantGuys, I created this post so people could help us out with a genuine "Idiots" guide to creating an acapella, not to discuss instrumentals, knockout processes etc etc. Lets see some proper help please.

I think people need a reminder of the original post.

underdriveParticipanter.. it seems al yall’s posts are concerning free PC vocal extraction programs (at least that’s the case for knockout) but what about MAC USERS..?
i also understand that audacity has some sort of noise reduction feature but i have searched high and low and have not found it. anyone feel inclined to disclose such information to me?

Okay, that was just plain stupid to me.
Instrumentals and Acapellas may be sort of opposites, but they go hand in hand and you can’t make a good song with just one of them. There’s a big gap between acapellas/instumentals and phones/receptionistsI feel this site is sort of Instrumental-hating, but for what reason?
Can you not at least open up a separate forum for people who have found great sites with instrumentals and want to share it, here on this site?
I get the feeling that even the talk of instrumentals is banned from this siteI know that this site is for acapellas, but at least let people post in some separate forum where they can find good instrumentals.
So I ask here as well; anyone know any good instrumental-sites?
