SchemaParticipantAbout 2 years… practice till your ears bleed.
And at live shows [especially] if you trainwreck a transition, don’t curse or grimace, just play it cool because odds are: no one else noticed.

Robert EvansParticipantIve had decks for about 2 and a half years. Been dj-ing in clubs every single weekend for a year now. Sometimes 3-4 bookings a night!!!
Been producing for about 6 months properly, had a few releases aswell so 2007 has been a very good year for my dj-ing.
Also signed to 3 different record labels so all good!!!

funkverzParticipantall it takes is practice….the more you do it the more you get familiar with many things….just how you learn how to walk since a baby:)
AdSense 336x280April 9, 2008 at 11:36 am #647535
tommyladdParticipantive been djing for bout year and a hlaf now but only took it serious in the past year. ive already played in clubs like so i feel like i am learning quickly. tips i have although i am not too experienced would be the same as what people have said….practise.
it is good to know your tunes but not essential if you get into the rythm and feel it then it flow, keep going even if u mess up keep going. lose yourself in the music, sounds strange but i djd in a club before and i went into a zone, like trance state of mind i was just lost haha, i wasnt thinking of n e thing but the music and atmoshphere i was going wild just mixing tune after tune dancing about and wasnt paying attention to anything but the music, then wen i looked up the dancefloor was rocking! gotta say in the short time ive been djing that was a fantastic moment. you gotta be passionate about what you do, mix music you love and want people to hear, dont be swayed by other people, do what you like. make your own techniques of mixing dont follow , if music and djing is your passion it will come! right sorry people essay overAdSense 336x280April 9, 2008 at 1:35 pm #647543
