Viktor KParticipantThis chart didn’t hit my spots as much as usual from you Val but there are some very good tracks on here.
For example the Hoxton Whores remix of Paris to Berlin is without a doubt the best version of that song.
The Playmaker & Pilch’s Silky Club Mix of In My Head is awesome, I love that remix. And of course Axwell did a great job as usual.
Overall good chart but not super for meAdSense 336x280July 10, 2006 at 4:10 am #592929
DJ ValParticipantHey Vickylicious no probs. As I mentioned in the initial post, these tracks are taken from my latest "Clubbers Guide Mix" I’m working on. I know where you’re coming from though, as funky house always does it for me. Having said that you have to go with what the people want and this is the type of stuff they want from me at the moment
Take care

DJ LevantParticipantRihanna – Unfaithful (Tony Moran Club Mix) is currently pumping on my system

daboyritchieParticipantyo val…your charts cool…my thursday nite crowd would love every sond here and wont leave the dance floor…in fact they would ask for lots more…its different strokes for different folks…i also like to think that djs can be a little too sophisticated and too cool and just play for themselves…stop for a minute and consider the 300 to 500 people havin fun on your dancefloor wen you play the so called commercial tracks….me, i vote for fun n smiles n hands in the air, over cool n posing any day!!!!. so, yeah, nice chart!!!! spot on.

The crowd I play for would sometimes have problems with some of these tunes for being to "unknown". Though most of these would work like a charm and I got some great response from Dennis Christopher vs Tony Cha Cha – Slut (Original Club Mix) saturday night (great track btw). I dropped it right after Dave Mccullen – B*tch and they work great together and got the girls going
The chart aint bad as I said it just didn’t hit all my spots as the usual Val charts. But then she made another one after.
It’s a pretty interesting topic to talk about what to play and what not to play. If I would start playing only the things I wanted to then I wouldn’t have a job next weekend. For me it’s about compromising a bit to get the crowd going and then the more hands in the air I get the more freedom I get with the choice of tracks. As you said Ritchie I also wanna see fun n smiles. Thats what it’s all about, having a great time.AdSense 336x280July 25, 2006 at 12:15 am #594409
daboyritchieParticipanthey vickylicious iv seen and iv been motivated by some of your past charts n i still love your last mix…same as dj val and dj nicky t. you all know really good house music. im sure all will agree that sometimes the crowds we play for seem to prefer the tunes they know and can sing to…tom novy your body, dave mccullum bitch…even gadjo or joey negro or the normal mix of most precious love!!!!!!!!!. i get fraustrated cos i wanna play so many new funky tracks, but iv gotta be smart n play smart… oh well, its all good i guess…..

DJ ValParticipantIt would be great to be able to play the tunes that we ourselves love all the time. But unfortunately most of the time we have to follow with what the punters want, after all it’s them that are paying us. Now should I ever own my own club, well that would be a different story. The music that I love would be played around the clock
