SeanzaParticipantMannn! You gotta be jokin’ sayin’ this will change my perception. This is just like any other song by Cham…"muder was the case and the blamed me" damn, I hate that kinda crap from people!
Cham reps everything I just don’t get about Hip-Hop.
Only good thing about this track is that Slick Rick jumped on
"most rappers got new albums that white kids inticipatin’" ?? He said that like it’s a bad thing! Bit of Racism?

brapkoParticipantjeeezzz… yall aren’t getting the purpose of the song or video at all.
If you can tell me what he’s getting arrested for in the video and tie it into the rest of the video… then you’ll get the meaning.
It aint talking about him "killing something with a gun"AdSense 336x280August 1, 2007 at 11:13 pm #630285
SeanzaParticipantHe’s talking about how the police pick people up for any old excuse…am I right? Coz if that’s the deal, we don’t need Cham to tell us that
That officer said "you’re the one who’s been makin’ all those song about the police" across the screen it says "Chamillionaire uses the ‘N’ word" & "Using the ‘N’ word is illegal in Hip-Hop"
He just HAD to fit in the line "I don’t know no Pimp C, all I know is I’m rich didn’t he?"
It’s the same stuff different beat from Cham man.
Also he seems to be takin’ the mick on the fact that America has no decent thing to report on in the news…I find that quite ironic.

The whole idea of this song/video is that before this… Oprah wanted him to come on her show and talk about the use of the N word in Hip Hop. He was going to go but canceled last minute because he realized that there are bigger things that should be discussed at this time (war, drug ammount, killings, etc). And apparently Oprah gave him a hard time about it. So he came up with this idea that "Hip Hop Police" (oprah, bill o’riley, old people). He thought it’d be funny if they made a video where all of Rap is attacked in one day because of this, (and if you didn’t catch the white reporters name…whos also cham…..they called him Bill O’Wildly.. ironic)
As far as this line:
He just HAD to fit in the line "I don’t know no Pimp C, all I know is I’m rich didn’t he?"Who doesn’t say that they’re rich in their songs????
cmon now…50 cents new single: "I Get Money" – sounds like a dirty south song.
Nas: If I Ruled the World:
Imagine smoking weed in the streets without cops harassin
Imagine going to court with no trial
Lifestyle cruising blue behind my waters
No welfare supporters more conscious of the way we raise our daughters
Days are shorter, nights are colder
Feeling like life is over, these snakes strike like a cobra
The world’s hot my son got not evidently
It’s elementary, they want us all gone eventually
Trooping out of state for a plate knowledge
of coke was cooked without the garbage we’d all have the top dollars
Imagine everybody flashin, fashion
Designer clothes, lacing your click up with diamond vogues
Your people holdin dough, no parole
No rubbers, go in raw imagine law with no undercovers
Just some thoughts for the mind
I take a glimpse into time
watch the blimp read "The World Is Mine"But i guess that’s not portraying sex, money, bling, and drugs.
And this is not the same old cham. different beat, man. Sorry. Its just not.. cuz if you listened to his other stuff its nothing like it.
And you can’t let 1 LINE take out the whole meaning of the song.. that’s just not having an open mind bro.B-rap

vice versesParticipantbrapko, i can see ur obviously a cham fan , and theres nowt wrong with that, but i personally dont thinks hes all that… i like that he’s lyrical as a lot of the rappers from the south just drawl slow words. but i dont think cham is up there with the greats, ur comparing him to nas, i mean nas could ride any beat and has flows for days. wheras cham does tend to sound too similar in flow on most of his tracks.
Everyone likes different things so i cant knock u for that, but cham isnt all that, and i wouldnt say hes coming with anything new.V.V.
AdSense 336x280August 2, 2007 at 10:05 pm #630372
brapkoParticipantU are entitled to that opinion.. and indeed i am a Cham. fan…(rhymez? lol). Im not comparing him to Nas at all.. cuz any day i’d choose him over Cham. I was however comparing the lyrical aspect. All ive been hearing is South talks about guns and drugs and ISH, just pointing out that we’re not the only ones.
All im saying is he’s bringing something new to the South and you can expect to see that from his upcoming album.
Already.

SeanzaParticipantDude don’t think I’m hatin’ on the whole South thing, coz I ain’t
I just don’t like what Chamillionair stands for in his songs.
vice verses wrote:wheras cham does tend to sound too similar in flow on most of his tracks.THAT is what I mean by "same old Cham, different beat"
And Nas doesn’t just rap about money, cars, drugs & chicks. That’s what I’m getting at when saying Cham mentions all that stuff.
Dude I listen to J-Kwon, Luda, Rick Ross, Master P, Bubba Sparxxx & Young Buck and they’re all from the south. I put Rick Ross in bold ’cause I’m really liking his tracks right now.
One of my fave tracks at the moment to listen to is Chevy Ridin’ High by Dre & Rick Ross (don’t anyone be like Dr. Dre didn’t do that track, it’s Dre from Cool & Dre fools
).
So yeah man, maximum respect for the South, but not much for Cham…
AdSense 336x280August 2, 2007 at 11:41 pm #630384
brapkoParticipantthats fine bro.. and i understand your point, but i don’t understand how you say
"I just don’t like what Chamillionaire stands for in his songs."
There is no way you can say that statement, listen to Rick Ross, and not contradict yourself. Im sorry, that’s just the way it is.
ALL Rick Ross talks about is slanging dope and hos.. believe me.. i live in the MIA area so i hear people quotin his s*** everyday.
[quote quote="brapko":23b3ji12]P.s. whoever thinks that Dre from that song is Dr. Dre deserves to be shot thrice.hahah.
Check out my new posts in the Hip/Hop forum, biatches.[/quote:23b3ji12]AdSense 336x280August 3, 2007 at 12:03 am #630388
SeanzaParticipantOk that was a bit vague. I don’t like Cham’s style which means i don’t like how he goes about his music and how he makes his music and how gets what he gets.
Rick Ross comes out with chopped & screwed stuff with catchy hooks & nice melodies (IMO).
Cham…well let’s just say he ain’t speaking from his own experiences when he talks about that stuff, know what I mean? He was brought up by a muslim Father & a Christian mother
Apparently it’s curse-free in this next album of his. Let’s see how that will sell. One thing about Cham that I do like is that he doesn’t have to say "fuck this" & "fuck that" to fill in gaps on his tracks. But maybe that’s coz he fills it with "jail this" & "money that"
Checked ya track out, left some feed…as you know!
Peace

RICK ROSS WE KNOW HE SUCKS AS A RAPPER AND ON HIS INTERVIEWS( TOLD CATS THEY WOULD HAVE TO BE INTELLECTUAL TO BE RAPPERS THEY DIDNT BELIEVE ME) AND THAT SONG IS OLD THATS ALL I WANTED TO SAYwell now.. aren’t you glad you got that out.

SeanzaParticipantActually I said one of my favourite tracks right now is Chevy Ridin’ High, mainly because he has screwed hook. Get your facts right boy
And because a song is old, that means it can’t be my favourite track? So that means all the old skool stuff is whack and nobody’s allowed to have an old song as their fave or 1 of their faves?
Plus your 3 posts have all ben CAPS so they’ve all been deleted, you got a PM stating why.

Having already heard his album, it is a new sound for him, so if you’re lookin for a lotta street bangers, this one’s not it. There’s a lot of harmonizing on chorus’, which i think is cool (shows talent) and a great song about Industry Groupies. Look out for that one.
