pukelParticipantHi all, I have an acapella of one song from her author. I have the original mix too. The thing I want to do is cut off the acapella by phase inversion in audacity, so I could get the clear instrumental. The problem is that the levels (velocities) of the two audio files are different, and that I can’t really define the phase of them, and of course I can’t match them perfectly together.
The song is Deep Zone & DJ Balthazar – DJ, Take Me Away, the song that won the Bulgarian Eurovision and is going to the finals this May. Balthazar didn’t forbid me to upload the acapella anywhere, but just in case I won’t do it. So if someone likes the song, and is willing to help me out cutting some samples and the instrumental off the song I would really apreciate it, and I’ll send him the acapella.. if he wants to remix it. As far as I know, nobody, but Balthazar himself has made a remix of the song so far, so I don’t think many people have the acapella.
So that’s my storyhope someone is interested.
Thanks, and sorry about my bad english.AdSense 336x280March 23, 2008 at 9:56 pm #646178

ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantHello pukel, welcome to the site.
I dont like to be negative but the chances of this working are very small.
The main problem being that you have MP3s and not the original uncompressed files. You also have the added problem that the song has probably been mastered/ compressed which will have changed the vocal in the process.
The acapella wont have been. You may also find the 2 files are slightly different speeds, I have seen this before with a song and an instrumental, why….? we can only guess!
Your best option if you know the artist is to see if he can get the instrumental track, although even this is not always possible for even the artist!

pukelParticipantYeah, you are all right. I have a mastered and very very much compressed
mp3 of the original mix and mastered wave acapella. Well, I have tried to get some samples twice from him, but he told me that he only have the acapella, the other stuff is at the studio, so he couldn’t get it. Well, I think that even this is a big step, because I don’t personaly know him, and I am not an artist.. so if I were him I suppose I wouldn’t give the samples of my greatest hit to a stranger
Well anyway I’ll be glad if you are interested in remixing it. We can start a contest or something, and I’ll send him all demos and remixes (of course the best ones). Hope someone is good enough to make a pro song which will impress Balthazar enough to wan’t to publish it
Thanks for everything, this site is amazing and I don’t know what I would do without itAdSense 336x280March 24, 2008 at 11:24 pm #646291
ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantBy all means let us have a listen to the pella, the only way is to upload to the database and let us know its there or pm a link to it on a file host.
(speedyshare works well for me)
I will have a go at a remix if I feel inspired by it.I dont think Balthazar will be able to authorize the remix tho, its more likely that will be the record labels decision.
