wcwcParticipantWell I better post my work now, since its Thursday in 30 minutes in my country.
I have used:
Beastie Boys – Check It Out [provided]
Misfits Of Science – Fools Love
Dei Hamo – We Gon Ride [produced by Chong Nee]
Mareko – Stop Drop & Roll [produced by P-Money]AdSense 336x280August 9, 2006 at 5:46 pm #595729
NVSParticipantHere’s my entry entitled Check it S.C.O.M.
Features instrumental samples of S.C.O.M. by Fort Minor/DJ Green Lantern and acapella Check it Out by Beastie Boys. Thanks and good luck!

vice versesParticipanthi all,
I know theres an extension to this competition, but seeing as im not gonna get chance to work on it anymore i thought id post it up. sure was a challenge to mix the beastie boys, but i think im quite chuffed with outcome,
ive slowed it down and chopped the pella loads, but i think the vibe works,[b:2z6yg1s0]anyways i hope u like,
acapella – beastie boys "check it out"
instrumental – "GZA – Words from the genius"
samples – "biggie – bust a nut" & "busta – woo hah"
scratch – "ill bill – gangsta rap"(also small snippet from the just blaze acapella version of this pella, to correct the bit where he laughs)
good luck everyone….
V.V.[/b:2z6yg1s0]

DJ LMA aka DJ LeethalParticipantChoo you had the best mix imo, voted 4 ya. Good job homie, good listen and blend.

pretty_uglyParticipantI liked vice verses mix the most, the way he used samples and all, sounds really good plus I like the beat
you got my vote
DJ Sho-Tyme had pretty good mix too but it sounded off in some places

also k_none,… i agree, it takes a while to listen to all the entrants but i hope people are voting for the mixing skill used rather than tactical voting or friends voting oneanother,

The CutterParticipantHere’s my 2 cents,
Dj_Choo has a very nice mix but my vote goes to DJ Sho-Tyme. I felt that his choice of music flowed better with the pella. I also liked how he arranged the "santana again teppin steppin steppin out" pella it fit really well also.
Might I suggest to all of you that when you use samples/instrumentals in a mix don’t be afraid to make them your own. Meaning go ahead and change them up a little. There is nothing worse than hearing the same sample looped over and over with no variation throughout the entire song. This really only applies to a few and you know who you are.
I’m sure you all can understand my point.
Good job to everyone who entered.
Mr. C.

Lol the only real friend I have in this site is Patron, I don’t think one person brings 10 vote.
I didn’t like the Beastie Boys and I had to throw some kind of intro in there. :/

I began my analysis of this group of mixes last night but it’s time consuming! I hope to finish it up tonight and move on to another group.

Cheers for the feedback bro i really appreciate it. i tried to make the song my own and seems like its paying off. adding a more modern feel to an old school acapella i thought may have been a risk on my behalf, but im glad to see people enjoying the remixes, not just mine but others along all the groups. keep voting yal, only a few days left…..

In SilicoParticipantChoo, loved the mix holmes. Got my vote.
I would like to say though, the mix would’ve been hands down if you din’t have the voiceout ‘Dj Choo’ at the end of every 16 beats or so…that was a bit overkill. Good sound though, liked the crazy encore/numb mash thing.

Lol Thanks Silico, much appreciated. I grew attached to Pac saying "DJ Choo" that I overused it. Lol. Now I know where my falws are. Thanks for pointing it up, I gots to master mashing!

Timing issues with this one. Not really beatmatched properly. The beat gets old real fast when just a few bars are repeated. Not so great, but not horrible.
WcWc
Frigging solid, not a single complaint on this track! Thought the beats you picked were superb! This is probably the one, but I’ll have to listen to the others to be sure. Regardless, an awesome track and a nice addition to any collection!
Sho-Tyme
Damnit, this one’s good too! Real good. The Santanna samples fit beautifully! Love whatchya’ did with it, sounds hot, has more of a dancey club vibe to it than the others.
NVS
Almost impossible to beatmatch properly, and as such, it is indeed not beatmatched properly or at all. Decent effort, but just… doesn’t sound right.
DJ Choo
Off key vocals on the intro, so that makes it tough for anybody who’s a musician of any sort (like me) to really get into the track. The numb encore beat fits real well! I don’t think you needed any of those extra vocal samples, if anything they kind of messed with the flow. Solid mix, didn’t like the vocals on the intro, overall enjoyable!
Vice Verses
Pretty good, but sounds kind of like it was recorded on the subway. Fidelity is my only complaint on this one. Like what you’ve done with it, but not enough to make it better than WcWc or Sho-Tyme.
Summary
Sho-Tyme… WcWc… either one of you want to throw me 10 bucks and my vote is yours!
hehehe… still thinking about it, but one of those two will get my vote for sure.
