vice versesParticipantjust thought id start a positive thread … hoping to unearth some good albums i may hve missed over the years.. im a huge lover of hip hop… mostly the 90’s era..
and it seems in todays culture of downloading the hot song of the album, and all the millions of mixtapes, it seems a dying art the ALBUM
so id be interested in some albums that you reccomend as being just purely great..
as in an album that every track on it you dont skip through… great production/great artwork/great guest appearances etc…ill start off with a few of mine to get the ball rolling (mostly obvious ones i guess)
but feel free to add any you think i should investigate!
– Snoop – doggystyle
– big pun – capital punishment
– game – the documentary
– jay z – reasonable doubt
– cypress hill – black sunday
– the streets – original pirate material (okay i know unusual choice)
– dr dre – chronic / chronic 2001
– gangstarr – greatest hits (lol)
– eminem – marshal mathers lp
– 50 cent – get rich or die trying
– 2pac (most albums to me as i cant say just one!- but had to mention him)well for the moment ill leave it at that.. but ill add more when i think of them
right over to you???

Mac SlyParticipantHeavy post!!
For me its got to be:
Nas – Illmatic & God Son(No surprises here)
Dr Dre – Chronic and 2001 (USUAL PICK)
Mos Def – Black on both sides & The Ecstatic (Slept on album in my opinion)
Jay Z – The Blueprint and Black Album(All subsequent albums have not been as good)
Anything by Gangstarr
Biggie Smalls – Ready to Die
Kanye West – The College DropoutThese are the albums I always seem to go back to listen for inspiration or just when I’m depressed about music these days.
