Ive just read through the extraction methods in the LARGE other post, heres a quick tip from the inside Im sure TimG will either use/using/used the following tool, and If not Tim, this saves a helluva lot of time.
Many ways or should I say, the number one way to "extract" the vocal "range" not the vocal itself (ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE) is If you have an instrumental and a vocal track and:
Double track sample accurately and then phase invert one to phase cancel out the other. (Something that almost all the other guys have had difficulty in doing with various programs and plugins/ menu tabs. and ttying to understand how to phase invert/flip/switch ……
USE the plugin C Superstereo this plug had every feature one ever needs for centre/vox extraction, also (L channel =/-) (R><L Channel Swap) and R channel =/-
Easy peasy no more menu/manual / hunting etc……I have used this plug for about 6 years in production (I use it for Stero metering/Phase shifting and correlation of Synths and Vocals, and can vouch that for what ALL you guys strive to do with pellas, its the easies straightforward tool for the job. this aint a "plug" for the company (sorry for the pun troops) cos I think the company is bust.
OOH did I tell you THE GOOD PART
ITS FREEEEEEEEEEE!!!
go help yourself become masters of the accapella nation, and help this site out, by chucking back up the pellas you do ……. , so help out the crew and when you rip a pella, send it this way.

Please just drop em into your vst folder and your done.
If your using Audacity remember to have the VST wrapper in the same folder as the VST plugin you wish to use.
These tools are essential the more experienced you get with production,(they help you identify problems and also help you find out more about your track/mixes.

WavestationParticipantIf you dont know if a vst plug works in FL youll just have to wait and gain the 1-2 years experience needed to use the plugin posted above.
