50 Cent ft. The Game & 50 Cent – Hate It or Lose It

Just as an intro, I’ve been out of the mixing arena for quite a while. However, a few weeks ago I stumbled across one of my old remixes that I made which I never quite perfected ( topic14382.html ). After listening to it, I decided to completely remake it from scratch with different timing on the acapellas and instrumental. The first time I did this, Eminem’s vocals weren’t that great. Also due to the timing, 50 Cent’s and The Game’s vocals were a bit distorted. Another positive that came out of remaking this mix was the quality of the instrumental. In the original, you could hear quite a few kicks and snares that kinda "skipped". I’ve fixed ALL of that when remaking it. It turned out a LOT better than it did the first time around (at least in my opinion). Out of impulse, I also decided to create a video for it using the original music videos from 50 Cent & The Game’s "Hate It or Love It" and Eminem’s "Just Lose It". If you have any suggestions, please comment. =]

I remember you too bro. I did put that Ying Yang Twins instrumental to good use as well in a mix I did with Missy Elliot’s ‘Lose Control’. I think I was posting my progress with it on here, but never completely got around to posting the final. I’d post the final copy up, but I’m not sure if I still have it.

And no worries….I love constructive criticism where it’s due. As for the music during Eminem’s parts…yes they are clips from the mastered track with vocals and music. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a better quality acapella for ‘Just Lose It’ than the one I had before. But wow! You’ve brought my attention to something….I didn’t notice the cleanliness of the hi hats during his verses until you mentioned it. You can definitely hear the transition. I’ll take a look into cleaning up the rest of the instrumental used during the Game’s verses so that it sounds better. Also, the "extra" hi hats you heard are from the acapella. I’ve tried a lot of tweaking, but couldn’t clear them completely, and due to the uptempo beat of ‘Hate It or Love It’, they do stick out a bit. I hear what you’re talking about them sound like they’re going out of sync…unfortunately it seems like the hi hats can’t be heard all through out the acapella, so when they do stick out it’s not that great. The reason for it sounding out of sync like that is because in ‘Hate It or Love It’ there are two hi hats in the time that there would be only one in ‘Just Lose It’. I’m gonna do some more work in that department to see what I can do about it.

I’ll also go deeper into the timing of the acapella with the instrumental. The biggest part that kinda gets to me is 50 Cent’s intro at the very beginning. I think I kinda jumped the gun on that and didn’t really think about timing until the actual verses kicked in. And even then I had a little trouble getting them "seemingly" close because of the differing beat patterns of the two songs. No worries though, cuz I’m gonna keep working on this track, and I’ll keep everyone posted on my progress.
