ableton korg kp 3

Hello, I have a laptop with a audio interface with input and output rcas. Is that all i need to be able to record from kaoss pad to a track in ableton? I would also like to use kaoss pad effects along what evers playing in ableton before it reaches the speakers. Do i need to wire everything to a mixer? Hope that makes sence??? Thanks
