TheoryParticipantBefore messing with vinyl I usually try out ideas on AcidPro to see if things sound decent or might work well together. If it feels like it’s going somewhere and there’s an instrumental or acapella I don’t have that will make the end product a lot better I look for it on vinyl and set it up as an MP3. AcidPro is good for this basic function. I know you can do a lot more with it but for the basic, basic mashing and cutting you can do decent with Acid.

TheoryParticipantReally depends on what you want to do. For basic acapella over instrumental with some effects and fades you could do a lot with ACIDPro. Definitely depends on your goals. Check the trial versions on download.com or on the programs’ respective sites to see what they have to offer. Also check user reviews anywhere online.

dj_razParticipanti use ableton live and cool edit to make mashes.
i use cool dit to cut the acapella’s and instrumentals. then i transfer them to ableton live where they get synced with each other. all you have to do is set the volumes.
have fun!

How is Ableton overall? I’m thinking of buying it. Do you use them on turntables or have some kind of MIDI controller?AdSense 336x280January 12, 2007 at 9:06 pm #609701
gknolParticipantHmm, could there be mashups made from FL Studio?
