ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantI wasnt sure how this was gonna come out but it got a surprisingly good crowd reaction the 1st play then not so good the 2nd night

Guess it just has to be to the right crowd._____Sean Kingston – Take You There (Chunkys House Mix)

acheadKeymasterVery nice. I love that piano break near the beginning. I can’t decide between this and Luminance’s remix (kidding, they’re equally awesome!), all I know is that I’ve been inspired to create my own remix to enter in the "competition". Nice work.

LuminanceParticipantHey nice job Chunky! I really liked how you used the vocals. That was one of the things that bothered me about my mix. I just threw them down and didn’t even change the arrangement, nevermind adding stutters and stuff.
Two questions, what are you using for your string sounds and how are you doing your vocal stutters?
Nice beat!
AdSense 336x280July 14, 2008 at 12:03 pm #653486
ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantThanks for your comments Luminance.
The string sounds are almost an ‘out of the box’ factory preset of Logics ESX24 module.
>Factory >Pop Strings > ESX Strings 1.
Just added compression and a little EQ as they were very muddy with the piano. On the whole Logics audio editing is as fun as taking a swig from your beer can
and finding someone put a cigarette butt in there but it does have its + points. (1 click looping)
Hover your pointer in the top corner of a file, hold down you mouse button and
extend the loop as far as you want. (A quick way to copy+paste)
If the section your looping is too short, hover in the bottom corner of either the
start or finish of the file to extend in either direction. (So the bit you cut off reappears
as you extend). You can also program your automation to add delay effect on sections of the loops.
(very easy to do)I put a link to my mix in your comments so only fair I return the favour!;

DJ LevantParticipantHey Chunky, This is a great remix mate. To be honest I am not a big fan of the original track but your version gave it a really appealing feel. I liked what you did with the vocals and loved the piano, strings and beat. Everything goes together really well, Excellent stuff!

MichL*ParticipantWhoa, really nice mix there Chunky! I couldnt even think of an electro/house mix with this track… that was before i heard your mix, very solid work.
AdSense 336x280July 19, 2008 at 6:07 pm #653761
CasqueParticipantWow! really loved your mix. the vocal editing was top notch, and the beat was equally good
the only thing i would maybe change a bit is the bass line as it’s a bit fuzzy. but then again maybe that was the idea lol! overall though i’d put this in a mixAdSense 336x280July 19, 2008 at 7:59 pm #653765
ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantThanks for your comments guys, always very welcome good or bad.

The Delays were volume automated to a an Aux channel with Logics ‘Delay Designer’
In fact the whole song was created just using Logic 8 with the exception of iZotope which was used for mastering.benj1989 wrote:still very nice, will defenitivly play it this summer 😉Thanks Benj
Nice to see the track still has a little life in it yet
Will have 2 more coming soon after so long, Usher OMG and a remix of a popular Arabic song, should be interesting

Thanks for all your comments, really appreciated
