simonburrellParticipantHi Every1
I make music in reason and have found it to be a versitile and very useable program but im having trouble with making my drums sound interesting. Ive already tried varying the velocity and moving them slightly out of time to make them ound as if they were played by a live drummer but that isnt rli working. Has anyone got any ideas about the best way to use reverb/ delay etc in reason to create interesting and atmospheric drums.
would appriciate a few tips with this

johnferrarisParticipantEQ and layer a break to run in the background to add some groove. Maybe, say, just the high-end or a bit of midrange. Whatever works. The rest… u’ll have to work out urself. Practice practice practice

ekvaParticipantWell.. try using Scream! Don’t be scared of the distortion that may come in at first. Some knobbing will help! I especially like using scream with bongos. I don’t really suggest using too much reverb on drums because of the metallic sound that comes..
ez!

totalcultParticipantUse fills and drum solos from an old funk track / jazz record / dub compilation, chop ’em up and fire up the NNXT. Drop them in every once in a while to break up (pun intended) your main drum pattern.
