acapellaKeymasterTasteful beats – fresh intro.
Nice to use an upright bass .. wicked vocal – really needs putting into key with the bline..
Good sequencer work – drums, little cuts ‘n’ fills..
Overall the tracks in need of some EQ’ing.. from lo’s to the hi’s.
Great stuff though De-Fine.. showing you got the skillz..

acheadKeymasterI’m liking this man, could here it being played by Joey Negro or someone like that, the bass is a little too heavy though.

AvalonSuperstarParticipantI hate doing reviews because what the hell do I know?
Sounds very promising at this stage (But as mentioned needs a final mix as the end draws near). But the overall volume is too low even now.
I like the drums, nice variation right at the end of each 8 bars. hmm.. electric bass sounds a little thin, maybe compression or even a touch of a chorus with the speed set quite slow. It will thicken the sound nicely if you think it fits the track.
Very tasteful use of the vocals.. maybe a very little touch of reverb to pull them on top of the mix when doing final mix down.
Some of the SFX used are not my favorite… the high pitched “squeak-squeak” is touch repetitive to me. Although the freq registers at around 3 kHz and cuts though well. Maybe use one FX just when transitioning between the different section… every 48-60 bars perhaps.
Time at 7:42 is perfect IMO.. I’ve been cutting most of my recent tracks to under 8 minutes or a least provide a mix out point at 6:30.
Um.. any DJ’s want to chime in… should there by less drums at the end for a cleaner mix point?
The section where everything drops out except the vocals may happen too often… maybe use this more sparingly so it provides more contrast to the track with different frequencies (bass, mids, highs).
There is a problem that can’t be heard at low volume so I compressed the shit out of the track and eq’ed it to add a little presence. But there is digital clipping in your original track that can’t be heard too well at low volume.. but if you listen to the file posted below it really stands out. Becareful as there is nothing you can do to fix that one.. once it’s there it’ll always be there. Also too much reverb (drums maybe).. again not too well heard in the original, but really stands out now.
But like I said, what the hell do I know.
Very solid track…. let’s hear more!

I quite liked the blend. Its a fresh sound and its been nicely mixed.
Ohh & by the way I quite liked the high pitched “squeak-squeak” lol
350z’s compressed version gives the product a nice touchAdSense 336x280March 14, 2005 at 7:33 pm #569730
